Love your attitude! After the infection and a month in an imbolizer my OS said he'd be happy if I reached 90. I, not sure what my ROM is, but the only thing I can't do is squat and sit on my leg. I do really miss that, I always sat with my leg under me.

Wow, thanks for letting us know about the operation report. And it sounds as though you are doing so well!

Day #13 - I got woken up last night about 4 a.m. with aching and pain in my knee. This was the first time since surgery and I think it was caused by the ice machine pad pulling on it - the entire tubing was hanging off the bed and putting pressure on my knee. I had to get up and take oxy (first time for that too), got back in bed and the pain gradually dissipated. Otherwise, have seen little change over the past couple of days. Getting around OK, still stiff and sore. Went out on my porch to my freezer yesterday with husband's help, to look for something for dinner. Three steps. I did not try them the "normal" way.

Ugh sorry to hear that @FlaGranny - glad you were able to take the oxy and feel better- lots of rest today- that's what I'm doing as well!

Ughh well that sounds unpleasant. Glad the oxy helped you get back to get more rest. This is such a tiresome journey isnt it? Off to another day in the adventure huh?

Seems to be the common thread huh, rest, rest & more rest.

Wonder what ever happened to our other surgery week buddy @sheliac . Hope she is doing ok. I dont think we have heard from her post surgery

Oh yes we haven't heard from her!:(
Btw my resting friends - naked and afraid marathon on today!

Also, we seem to be missing Maddy. I don't know about them but I really didn't feel like sitting at my computer and posting for a while. Getting more into it now.

ya I dont sit at my computer, more like my computer sits with/on me ;)

I alternate between a tablet and a chromebook, as I sit in my recliner

I have had that problem with the ice machine hose, too. So what I do when I get into bed is to pull all the excess hose onto the bed and throw the covers over it to hold it there. This gives me enough room to move around and lay on my sides, if I wish.

It's the only time I had a problem. I usually pull the hose into the bed too, but for some reason this time I didn't do that. Live and learn.

Day #14 - two weeks out. I think the thigh ache from tourniquet application is improving some. Pain is at a level I can handle, but most of it is in my foot which is a little swollen. I have arthritis in the talonavicular joint which aches and aches and I guess the swelling in my foot is contributing to the discomfort from the arthritis. The knee seems to be coming along well. Still stiff and swollen, sometimes a jab of pain here and there. The left knee is 2 inches bigger than the right. Don't know if I can continue the oxycodone. This morning having a BM was akin to delivering a baby, painful pushing, bleeding, etc. Had to get back in bed and rest afterward. Taking Dulcolax and movement was soft so ??? Going to take senna and some metamucil today and see what comes of that.

Other than that, I'm walking about, making quick meals, elevating, and icing. The trip to the OS on Friday and stopping for a milkshake at McD's was without incident and no increased pain afterward, but I iced for hours after.

Sounds mostly good news. Boy can I sympathize with the bowel balance effort. Watching the weather closely here in FL this week huh? Keep healing, stay safe.

Did you get your staples out at the OS? That will be my next anxiety, sep 8 for me.

You sound like you are making great progress. I empathize with the BM birth-giving. It's almost not worth the oxycodone . They sent me home with miralax but I was afraid to take it (in case I needed to "rush"). Lesson learned the HARD way - I'm taking it now. Also a cup of hot prune juice with a teaspoon of melted butter.

Thanks for thinking of me while I was away. I thought of you all but couldn't focus my eyes enough to type[emoji41]

Day #14 update. Diane, I had glue, no staples or stitches. It is holding together very nicely. Little flakes of glue started coming off the skin today.

Shelia, I totally understand the typing thing after surgery. I typed short, clipped sentences just to get it over with. I wanted to post but I didn't want to go to my computer to do it. I wush I had a tablet.

PT came early this afternoon. Said I showed improvement since Friday. I can do 90 pain-free degrees now and I think I'm close to 5 with extension. He was happy and so was I. I'm going to try my recumbent bike tomorrow.

I haven't taken any oxycodone today at all and to tell the truth I don't notice much or any difference. I did take plain Tylenol. Seems all the oxy does is bind me up.

Today we went to McDonalds again and had a milkshake. I got by with just my cane. Then went to Publix and bought some groceries. Hubby went into the store and found a scooter and brought it to the car. Came home and immediately hit the couch with ice on my knee. No knee repercussions. Just a bit tired. I took 2 Senakot and 3 tsp Metamucil to see if I can get things going a little better.

Things are definitely looking up. The first days are so painful.

Flagranny, what a great report. I am so delighted for you. Glad you enjoyed your excursion. And I have mirilax packed in the hospital bag and prunes waiting for me in the hotel room, thanks to everybody's warnings!
