Thanks guys! Have had a few days of no fever lately, but get one after every visit by my PT. Dr. doesn't seem concerned. The non surgical hip is hurting more now and will be done next. Can't wait to be walking on 2 good pain free legs. Patience is a virtue, right?

It will be 4 weeks Monday since my first THR (2nd to follow soon) and 2 weeks until return visit to surgeon. Wondering what is ok to do... sleep on incision? walk without cane? exercise other body parts?
Comments anyone?

I'm on the flip side, now, I think. Hope I am following the posting rules. :o)

Oops - well slap me cuz you are still in the pre-op area! No worries, I will move this thread to post-op for you! Done!

Hi RockyRoada - I have now merged your 2 thread to one recovery thread. If you want me to change the title please let me know. We like to keep all the recovery information in one area so we can track your issues. Thanks!

LTHR scheduled for Aug. 22. Still have low grade fever most days from RTHR. Normal?

RockyRoada, I read back on your thread and it seems like this low grade fever has been with you (of and on) since your THR. Did you mention it to your OS? I'll tag Jo and see if she has any input. You are about 6-7 weeks out right? Josephine

I don't think it's of concern but still best to mention it to your surgeon some time soon, just to make sure he's happy!

They still say they are only concerned when it is over 101'. But, 100'2 or 99.5 is no fun and seems to happen about 7 pm most days. Sigh. It does make me rest and go to bed early. I also did "spit out" one tiny stitch about a week ago.

RockyRoada I've just caught up with your thread-- pleased to meet you here on the good side :) I hope you continue well, and that the fever will fade soon.
I noticed your comment about hoping you were following the posting rules-- I'm not sure which ones you meant, but we're all encouraged to roam far and wide amongst other people's threads, making friends and partying and generally looking out for one another. Then when we have a specific issue or update that's ours alone, we post it on our thread. We can discuss it on other threads, but it should show up on our thread just so others can track our progress. I love the thought that we're leaving a huge record here for those to come!

So, if you get bored of resting , come on out and have some fun! Check out all the other threads-- it's fun, and we learn SO much from others' posts :)

PS are you a scuba diver? :)

RockyRoada, Congratulations on your smoothe recovery...I am 13 weeks out and I still do not find it very comfortable to sleep on the operated side....Keep up the good work!

Congratulations on becoming a hippie... :)

Your temp will vary post surgery and as Jo indicates, it is quite normal :)

The fevers have all but vanished. Hip, hip hooray! (Puns intended....hee hee.)
Yes, I became a scuba instructor in the Chicago area at age 45...only female in the class and got the highest score, I might add. Girls rock.
Haven't been diving for a long time as we lived overseas on mission for the last 10 years. Hope to get back into it when my second sx is over and healed. Hmmmm...could diving damage joint cartilage?
