THR Double hippy happy<

MammaT, my hip lets me know when I overdo things like just now. 3 trips up and down stairs and its whinging at me so that's my cue to sit down and rest for an hour or two. Yep, bruise has a mind of its own, at least this morning it's not made an appearance:)

A busy Tuesday Layla, my youngest has a school hockey match tomorrow so have to get all his kit sorted for that, and I have a parents meeting with my 15yr olds teachers tonight.
Then it's physio on Wednesday....I want a day off!!!

Have a good day all :)

Hope everything holds up for your busy day. Mommys never get a day off.
Wishing you a good day.

Such a busy schedule. Good reminder that we have to listen to hips beyond the first few weeks.

How true Mojo, even when ill we still have to do everything:( Hubby whinges when he gets a cold, he gets told off me to man up, look what I went through and I'm still coping better than you with a cold :)

Definitely MammaT, mine gave me a stern telling off this morning, told me to slow down in no uncertain terms, I listened and have done as little as possible since:) Though it's hard when you have very little patience and want to get on with things.

Hi @SarahUK
Hockey AND football, oh boy....I lived that for years with my son.
I recall one day he was changing out of football gear in the car as I drove him to hockey practice. Crazy!
Some days it all felt like too much. A lot of sport involvement while still trying to keep their grades up....

But....those days are fleeting, as you know....and one day you look back and wish for those "good old days".
At least I do on ocassion. There's a song out now I love and in part the lyrics say "I wish somebody would have told me then, that someday these will be the good old days." So true, isn't it....

Glad you're taking it easy with the hip and that Mr Bruise is still giving you a break, hope it continues.
A wonderful rest of the day to you, Sarah!

One very happy hippy, I've just been discharged from physio!!!
I still have to do the exercises but only once a day:)
Won't see him now until I get the left done, he's happy, I'm happy, all is good.
Pretty sore this morning from all the walking around school I did yesterday - I hate teacher meetings :(
Too many stairs for my liking.
I'm to keep on with the walking practice with no crutch/cane.

Time for a celebratory coffee :)

Have a good day all :)

Yay on being signed off by the physio. Wishing you well with your continued recovery

Yay for milestones! There are a lot on this journey. No more physio :yes!:
Hope you're over the soreness from walking around the school.
Wishing you a great weekend!
@SarahUK

Soreness abated quickly, ice and rest helped that along quickly.
Mr Bruise hasn't made an appearance for a few days so I'm very happy at that. Physio looked at it on last visit and was shocked by how much it had gone down.
Weekend consists of getting the laundry and ironing done and that's about all I'm going to do, kids can handle the rest :)

Have a good weekend all :D

Great news, Sarah!
Sounds like things are moving forward.
Glad to hear Mr Bruise has hopefully taken his final bow. :yay:
I hope your day is going well so far. Wishing you a great weekend!
@SarahUK

:chuckmarch:yes ma'am..great news hippy chick.
Getting this recovery thing on the road.
Now don't do anything klutzy and sabatoge your recovery, promise?
:curtsey:

I promise Mojo :)

Hubby watched me walk without crutch earlier and said I've made huge improvement, not limping anywhere near as much as I was, if at all. Still have muscle tightness at top of thigh and down the side but that should ease over time and as I get more active, like I'm not active enough hehe.

Just need this dry skin to clear up and the ankle will be as good as new :)

Hi @SarahUK
Hope you had a good weekend AND a decent start to the new week.
Sounds like you're making progress without the crutch.....Yahoo!
No Mr. Bruise appearances, just dry skin? Big improvement also.
Wishing you a wonderful week in the U.K.
Hugs

Just dry skin and that's starting to go as well. :)
If only it was a wonderful week, it's snowing again!!, perfect excuse to have a duvet day with a good book or 2 :)
No Mr. Bruise at all so that has definitely cleared up.
Walking without the crutch just took time and me being impatient wanted it to happen a lot sooner than it actually did.

Hope all is well with you and that you are out living some life.
I have had too much going on and today is a big day as our main benefactor is coming to our the facility.
Makes me think "clean up, Moms coming home"
Just checking in...hope you have a Good Day.

Hey you...over in the U.K. How's it going over there?
Assuming everyone is recovering from the wrath of the Beast from the East :heehee:
We're digging out ourselves here today :snow plough: < lots of that noise happening.
Spring IS coming, isn't it Sarah? Please tell me so
Hope you're doing well. Give us a shout out when you're able.
Hugs :friends:

Hey all!!

Got my CT results today - apparently I'm normal, that's news to me! :)
Looks like I'm having my left hip done sometime in July this year!!
He does A.M.I.S (Anterior Minimally Invasive Surgery), uncemented and no restrictions so I'm very happy.
Also with my history of dislocation, he'll be doing rigorous testing to make certain it doesn't dislocate, no restraining ring on this one. Looking at a one night stay and then home. Crutches for 4 weeks with PT so a totally different approach to the last one.

Hope everyone is safe, well and healing.

That's the procedure that I had for mine at once.
Hope things go great as well.

I have a great feeling about this one. I will of course keep you all updated as and when I have surgery.

In other news, my heel has healed completely, dry skin has said goodbye at last.
The weather is starting to get better so I might start my hiking again, only gentle walks to begin with and build it from there. The more I do, the stronger this leg will be before surgery and that's what I'm aiming for.

Hope everyone is happy and healing well :)

Great news on the CT scan! @SarahUK
Glad your heel has finally healed :yahoo: Bye - bye, Mr. Bruise!
You seem to have a healthy attitude about having your second surgery in July. We'll stay tuned.
Hope you're weekend is wonderful!
