Just called the hospital to as about the ice therapy on the ortho floor, and to get the phone number, I had to go to the hospital website. As I was on hold, I was clicking around the site and clicked on the about page and this is what I got :), the tall cutie on the right is MY OS , guess thats a good sign huh? I thought it was kinda cool. Isnt he cute?

Yup, agreed @sistersinhim. We can still dream. Inside me is a lovely 30ish young woman who feels she can charm any man......outside, well, hard to charm the cuties at 76. Alas.
Diane, he's a cutie and looks confident and competent, especially if they feature him on their ads. You've gone to the right man.
My ice plan in the hospital was a pillowcase full of ice. And I had to continually ask for it. You are being very proactive, which is smart!

Diane, at the hospital, where I had the surgery, not all TKR patient's had ice machines, my OS provides the ice machines for his patients, so I don't blame you for finding out ahead of time.

The two different hospitals I was in provided I wraps with Velcro in which two gel packs fit at one time. It came with 4 so I could always have two in the freezer. These are very handy for trips or for a time when I know I only can ice for a short period of time.

My OS provided the ice machine which I took home with me and still have but don't use. BTW my doctor is as cute as yours. :)

He is also an excellent OS! I'd be happy to give a referral if needed.

I did use it at first but then when my help vanished it was too much work trying to keep the beast filled with ice. I tried the frozen water bottles but they were too big and I wasn't driving yet so couldn't buy little bottles. It just seemed clumsy to use. I have about four or five gel packs that I use now. It is a Polar Care Cube. I don't know what I am going to do with it. Goodwill?

Oh, ya. I also have a walker and a tub seat. Maybe I should put them on Craig's list. :) I also have a walker from Goodwill for $15.00. I could make a profit. My brother loaned me the tub seat and doesn't want it back.

@Floridagal I only used my shower seat twice, what I used the longest was the raised toilet seat...when I went to the beach for the week, their toilet is super low, I think that's what improved my ROM :rotfl:

I can't believe your OS gave you the ice machines!. That is amazing. You can sell it on Craig's list. I borrowed all of my equipment, except the Kodiak ice machine, from a volunteer loan program. They sanitize the things that have been in contact with body fluids. They were all free for a donation, which I have not yet made, but will. I even was able to get the 4 wheel walker from there. I'm just now giving up the raised toilet seat. I'd like to keep it but feel it's best to try to use my muscles. Plus I hate it now.
