The park I went to (it was fairly close) was Clementon Park in Clementon, NJ. Camden County. Went to Atlantic City a lot and on the amusement piers. Most of them were wiped out by storms also. I think they rebuilt the Steel Pier?

YES!! Clemonton Park and the Jack Rabbit! Loved it. We went probably once a year for a while. Also Blackwood Lake until it got scum filled. Went to Atlantic City only 2-3 times while I lived up there. First time I ever had pizza (age 8)! Wonder what was in Asbury Park that we went to? My older brother invited his girlfriend to Storybook Land. My father scared us in one of the houses by being a wolf! Guess that's where I picked it up!

Diane, I finished "The Time In Between". I really liked it. Thank you for the suggestion!!

I remember seeing palisades park from the west side highway when driving with my family but my friends and I went to Coney Island, on the subway. I never went to palisades park. But it was such a landmark.

I finished "The Time In Between".

HA wow, you beat me to the end.. I have 2 more to go.. it is sooo good isnt it? did you have any trouble with the castillian dialect? I didnt too much, but I cheated just a little with the subtitles. She is just so stunningly gorgeous. Dont tell me, but I sure HOPE she ends it up with Marcus... ;)

Ok Bonesmart friends.. things start to get real today. In an hour we leave the house for my pre opp OS appt, then my pre admission testing at the hospital, if all goes well, which no reason I can think if it not to, blood, ekg, and all tests are in and ok. so..... (taking BIG GIANT BREATH) and oyeeee , this may actually happen.. unless I run for the hills, and wind up in Scotland, or Canada ;)

Later all. (ya still terrified, prob take a xanax along for the car, to swallow just before we get there)

@dianehelen I trust your testing went well this morning. I know you have been through many physical challenges and suspect all the lessons you learned will help you breeze through this surgery. I can tell from your postings that you are a strong and resourceful person so I know you will handle everything well. I hope you have a good support team in place. My husband was great but my sister came for ten days and was amazing. The recovery is tough--no minimizing that--but the waiting and worrying before the surgery was emotionally agonizing. I love Bone Smart but reading some of the ways some people had complications and problems prepared me but also gave me a lot of sleepless nights. You know I kayaked yesterday. This morning I walked on the beach. Walked on the beach pain free. A miracle. I'm resting now and sending you all my most heartfelt wishes for the easiest time ever when you face the surgery. You've reached out to dozens of folks here and shared your wisdom and knowledge. Time to reap the same from everyone here. You got this!!!!

I did like the series very much, she is very pretty girl, and I love the clothes, hair styles, etc...the ladies looked so classy.

Everything will be fine with pre-op, that's when it really hit home for me too!

I trust all will be fine for this pre op visit. It brings you a big step closer....we will continue to try to distract you until the big day....that, and Xanax. Seriously, we are all pulling for you for smooth sailing. Let us know when you have returned today.

Ok back from the dr visit & pre admit testing. Mostly went ok.got to see doc & pa, got my questions answered, firmly repeated my pain mgmt needs, hopefully they heard them. They do use a femoral block & exparel and say most find it helpful those first day or so.

Then on to anesthesia group, a few hickups there, like a disconnect between them & OS office re my bloodwork, luckiky I carry a dossier whenever I see docs, so had lab report handy. A bit of confusion over ekg. Doc office said the one I had in march (same hospital) was all I needed. Pre adm. Anesthesia people said no, they have to do a new one. No biggie, but it says on it "abnormal ekg" , so that freaks me a bit. I dont really know how to read those, but the squiggly lines on it look exactly the same to me. Should I be worried? They will be read and confirmed later today, so I guess I'll just sit & stress I don't get a call that they are cxling me for next week.

Anyone here know anything about this, how to read them, or what if anytime this could mean.

Nothing ever easy sailing, in my boat.

Well. I Have a little knowledge especially because I have AFIB but I can't give medical advice! Does it say anything besides abnormal EKG? @Josephine might have a good insight into what influence this could have. On the other hand, it will unfold as it unfolds and to a certain extent, you have no control.
It is smart to carry that dossier with you to apts. You have to be your own advocate in health care, to the extent that you can...to the point where you have no control!
They will sort it out.
All will be well.

No, says like normal sinus rythems, but on bottom of the text on the printout says that ughh

Afib did not stop you surgery I guess?

Guess just wait for now, just annoying

AFIB was my pre op obsession, that and the conflicting info re the blood thinner that I take. These newer anticoagulants are great, but very different from warfarin, and I was getting different answers from the OS assistant and my internist, plus questions like, why don't you take warfarin since that's what they knew, ......very confusing. I finally got to see my cardiologist, whose word, in my book, was the correct one, so I followed his instructions. Mind you my cardiologist is in Canada, the OS and internist in Washington, so it's not like they communicated.

When I spoke to the anesthesiologist just before surgery, and voiced my fears to him, he said, well, if you do go into AFIB it's the best place to be because we can take care of it!!!
Worries relieved!
And the OS had no issues with starting it up afterwards.

My ekg was noted as being abnormal, but a trip to the cardiologist showed that nothing was wrong. They said I could've taken a deep breath right then. Or moved slightly. So it turned out nothing was wrong.

An EKG can say it's abnormal for even the slightest movement on your part. In addition if you were nervous your heart rate might have been elevated which would also show as abnormal. Placement of the leads can also affect the results. If there was a major problem you wouldn't have been just sent on your way home.

Mine did the same thing. She had to keep taking different readings until it came out right. She said not to worry about it.

OK, thanks friends.. I will try to sit tight and not worry. Hopefully not get a phone call tomorrow with a problem to delay.
Also I got a voice mail from the surgical scheduler, asking me to return her call about my discharge needs from the hospital, so maybe thats a good sign? We shall see.

So now a week with NO Ibu, and waiting and waiting...

Diane, my EKG was also abnormal, my PCP said it was due to my hypertension and being on those meds for a long time, but as you can see it was not enough to cancel the surgery. My dad has had two cardiac bypass surgeries, he has angina and was able to have his total shoulder replacement surgery at the young age of 85.

Everything will be fine, you will see!!!

Try not to worry. I had one of the most horrendous pre-op episodes, not that I'm trying to out do you, Diane. After my PCP talked to me, listened to my heart, etc., he said let's look at your lung x-Ray. We proceed to his office, he pulls the x-rays up on his computer, makes a FACE, gritting his teeth in a grimace, then says, "that could be a cancer. I want you to have a CAT scan."

I was in such shock, I nodded my head, got in the car and wept the whole way to school. All I could think was I'll never have the TKR because now I have to have a lung removed. This was major scary for me as all I had ever experienced medically was testing for Hashimoto's, now I need a TKR and a lung removed with possible chemo and/or radiation. I prayed during the days before the CAT scan and figured maybe they could take part of my lung, I'm not a runner I'd be ok. I didn't tell my family because I didn't want to worry them. Well, they said it was scar tissue from a broken rib, I never had a broken rib. I keep saying I need to find a new PCP because I thought he handled that very poorly.

I know you've dealt with some serious medical issues, but I'm sure this will all work out before the TKR.
