32 DAYS POST -OP

Wow you are doing great. I was not able to walk a mile yet after a month, but then we had snow and ice on the ground and I could not get out of the house. Am walking three miles now and increasing.
I am glad for your speedy recovery.
Bea

Hey Donnie,
You haven't posted in a few days which is unlike you, I hope all is well.
I'm feeling better all the time and find that I'm not needing pain killers at all anymore (maybe on the odd occasion) but I'm certainly not up to speed with your walking.
How is your sleeping now? I'm finding that things are slowly returning to a more normal pattern!
Look forward to hearing from you.
Take care
Tanya xx

Wensday I saw the doctor I told her I wasnt taking anymore pain killers at this time and going for my walks evey night for a Mile and going up and down the stairs like a real person not holding on to the rails. She did a quick exame and watched me walk down the Hall and said were's the limp ..I said I forgot it!!!:yahoo:...She told me that there was no need for anymore PT if Im doing ll this walking and stuff I do.And Asked me when Do I want to go back to work:what:...I cant take it anymore I have to go back to work !! I live in So-Cal and spring is here and now is the time to make Money!!..So I go back Monday with no rectrictions..:dancy:....I feel 110% better what a differance a few parts make..I still have a little stiffnes and a little week on the iner thigh but a few weeks at the gym should help that .Today I have to go get a coulple pair of smaller pants and shirts.:yes 4:..They peeps at work say I look some much better the Pain face is gone and they say I look like I have lost so much weight as of today 40 lbs since this all started...A blessing I say It made me more aware of my med conditiong...I was slow and fat...Now I can live up to my Nick name "Speedy Gonzales"!!!!

I Hope eveyone else is doing fine I guess I did heal fast because of my age.I thank god for that. And If your in So-Cal and need a Hip Look up Dr.Karen Evenson she young Pretty and good with her hands!!!..Im in Love ..just kidding !!!

Hiya,

What a really uplifting report, sounds like you are doing fab. Well done on the weightloss and for not losing too much money in Vegas  I guess you have to have some willpower to walk away rather than betting agan with your winnings.

Good luck for back to work Monday.

Ann

Hey Donnie - great report. Sorry you have to go back to work - just when the fun began! :th_heehee:

Can you do a phased approach - shorter days at first? You might find you get very tired at first.

Let us know how you get on. Good to see you back here!

Fantastic! Good for you. Your recovery story should put anyone in a good mood. Good luck going back to work. -Cathy

Donnie,

As I've told others, it surprised me how much work took out of me at first...so be prepared.

I had had some nap free days before going back, but once I started back to work...forget it. It really sapped my strength. Just encouraging you to be prepared...and not be surprised.

Glad your trip went well....

Hi Donnie

What a super update - great to here you left your limp somewhere. Hehe!

Good luck with work on Monday, you and Tanya are returning the same day I think..

You will feel an energy drain, so be gentle with yourself when you get home and rest, elevate, ice/heat when you need it.

I found that I hit a slump around 3:30 every afternoon at work, in the early weeks, so took a couple of paracetamol around 3pm when I realized that was the pattern and that did the trick, because I stayed ahead of the pain. I also kept ice packs at work in my fridge, that heaped also.

Good luck, will be watching out for the next update :)

Glad to hear you had a great time in Vegas and you are doing so well. Going back to work will make you feel like you got your life back to normal. Probably will be a bit tired in the beginnning.
Way to go
Bea

Hey Donnie,

So pleased to hear you are doing so well, my work colleagues said the exact same thing about the pain face. I use to try and plaster a happy face on each morning but apparently I didn't do it well where as these days I can't stop smiling :)

Sandy was spot on in saying we go back to work the same day so I will certainly look forward to your update after Monday. Not sure about you but I have forewarned my boss about being tired and still finding outtings draining so this should be interesting!
Anyway best of luck on your return to work.
Take care
Tanya
