The crying has stoped I did get some sleep last night.The Pain I was having is about 80% gone..I feel a hole lot better now..I must say that 72 hours was tuff:hate-shocked:..I did'nt take any Norcos today but switch back to my Tramdol:thumb:....And my Pain Level is about a 1:yes 4:...I called the Doctor and she this type of muscle pain was common..I can bet I will sleep tonight!!!:sleep:She also gave me some more Norcos just in case.:skeptical:.. AlsoThe PT came by the house today and said I was doing really well..I can walk very good almost no limp at all..Just took my 7pm pill and will do on more round of PT and the 30min Ice down just in case..I almost have no swelling at all....And finshed my injections today Thank god!!!...So other than the Muscle Pain above my knee I say smooth so far!!!!

Day 14......2 Week update:yes 4:


By the way I told my PT about this site and How it has helped me get through this ..She said that she was going to check it out!!

OK...onward and upward! Glad things have turned around for you.
 
Had a great weeked..only waking up once a night...all most no swelling and staying out of bed and doing more..I have even stoped using the ice machine ...
Tomarrow I have my 2 week Doctors vist with the OS.

Just checking in since the site is back up and running. How did you make out at your appointment?

Hope you are continuing to feel well and are getting on well with this healing process. Please keep us posted.
 
I hope your doctor visit went well. Sounds like you are doing great with your recovery.
I also had this muscle pain. Still have a bit when I go walking mainly. But, it is sooo much better now. It is better every week.
Hope your healing will progress well.

Doctors vist went great!! I LOST 10 more lbs because I have been eating well and drinking tons of water.I was call the Silver flash by the nurse but she took it back because she said I didn't have enough gray in my hair.Because I was moving so fast she also said whats with the walker. Are you looking for simplicity ..Lol
She was funny.I like her.
They removed my bandage and took out the stitches on the top and bottom the rest was held together by white tape..said in two day I could get it wet and it looked great!!She also said ditch the walker and use a cane and nothing while in the house.
Medication ...to try and not use the Norco during the day back to the tramdol but I gona finish my celbrex because it cost me $200 bucks then use my other stuff.It cheeper...keep up PT and come back in 4 weeks!!! So it all went well tonight I went for a walk with my wife and my cane around the block!!!
Also did a drive by to work to show off my walking skills to my co-workers they were so happy for me and wait for me to be back....so for 100% happy thank you Dr.Evenson!!!

Great Update! Glad you are doing so well and what great news on loosing that weight (always an excellent feeling)

Here is Two photos from yesterday....see the hole in the cup the doctors said the plastic does not show up on the xray and that is one of the scew holes that the doctor does not always use ..on me she only used one screw.


Day 19....Still happy.

Great looking scar Donnie it hardly looks like you had surgery, really thin line NICE! Yes the screw is fun to see, my motto is as long as its all working and installed right then all is good! Keep up the good recovery and be gentle with yourself :) xxooxx

Can't remember if you told us or not...did you have anterior approach? Scar looks great, much shorter than mine...and the weight loss, way to go! Will only help with recovery.

I do like my scar they only used tape and one stich at the top and one on the bottom.Dont worry I'm still being careful.

I had Posterior approach seams to be working pretty good.And as far as the weight loss.I dont eat any carbs or sugar products ....just protein and vegetables!!
 
Im on a better routine of not eating carbs-starch-sugars it does make a huge difference. I always feel better too, more energy and calmer too not stressed etc...
 
Another great night!I went to bed at 10pm and didn't wake up untill 4:30 ....took a pill then back to sleep intill 7am....Hell ya!!..To bad I cant drive my car then I would be like a vaction..I wonder what the day holds for me today!

They are not two stitches, they are the ends of one stitch! The thread runs along just under the skin the whole length of the incision and is secured at each end with a knot! It's called a subcuticular stitch.

Cool didnt know that.I thought maybe I was glued together??Tomarrow I can take regular showers..and not worry about getting it to wet..My PT home vist today was cool she put a 2lb weight on my ankle to do my exercises..and she took me half way up the street for a.walk a cane !!...I walking pertty good but I limp once in awhile I guess because I was for so long..no nap today so hopefully another full nights rest..

Hey Donnie, pleased to see you still doing so well.
Your scar is amazing, mine would be more then twice that length and looks a little jagged....mum thinks the doctor had pre surgery cocktails before they operated lol.
If Could figure out how to post a pic I would share mine too.
