Revision TKR Complicated RTKR revision 2015, considering LTKR

He did say there didn't appear to be any inflammation. Outwardly at least I have had very little swelling of the knee or leg , no fever, no discolouration. I don't know if there's anything else I should have asked. :what:

everything basically is ok says my pain must be from some soft tissue that was stretched in the surgery and then injured by specific Physio exercise.
Randi, how about telling me the exact site of your pain using this chart?
Please note the instructions in the smaller image

and then giving me the detail (and I mean detail!) of the exercises you've been doing

Can you detail it like this

Exercises done at home: 3 sessions a day
Heel slides x10 (reps)
Strait leg raises x10
Steps x10

At PT
Squats x5 (reps) x2 (sets)
Wall slides x5 x2
Clamshells X5 x2

@Josephine. If you look back in my thread Ivr answered these questions several times. In fact I have now donec zero exercise for the last 10 days. Pain is at DRF2.

Almost afraid to say it... But the pain finally seems to be much more manageable . I can walk without screaming with every step. Let's hear it for good drugs - right time, right use , and anybody who knows me would be shocked to hear me saying that ! I'm allowing myself to think this recovery may actually happen someday ..:yahoo:

A little less positive today. Pain is manageable but when I read what others are able to do at this stage I'm frustrated. Yes, I know every body is different and every recovery is different and I had a major revision, etc.,etc. --- but almost two weeks of virtually total non weight bearing and I feel like I'm in jail. Going to cheat today and go to the pharmacy to check my blood pressure. :wowspring:

I have found that rest during these painful periods help me a lot. Like right now, I strap on my cryogenic cuff, take my meds and sleep for several hours. Healing tissue takes time. And if that tissue is not in motion the healing moves forward faster.

@Pumpkin that's a great idea! They've just started offering them at my local pharmacy.

Also, a weird thing just happened. I was feeling kind of sorry for myself and especially because I haven't been able to go back to my volunteer work at a fantastic pre-school for 2-4 year olds with special needs... Lo and behold, the phone rang and it was the whole group of teachers from the school calling on their lunch break to see how I was ! I think we have a mutual love affair.. It was so wonderful to hear from all of them, especially because my major goal ( besides being able to walk ...) is to get back to 'my' kidlets. Now if my knee will just cooperate..

How wonderful for them to call and see how you are. Maybe when you can weight bear, you could go for a visit and read a story to the kids. We have adult day care and child care (3mos to 5 yrs) where I work, both groups love the daily visits. The adults are much frailer than you, the kids are wonderful with them.

Sorry for the underlining above...no idea how it got there or how to fix it :what:

Can't wait to go for a visit ! Just have to plan carefully. The building is fully accessible but the parking is about a block away. I'll figure it out when my silly knee is ready to go. But I will get ther -- and soon !

Don't know how but you managed to make the entire post a tag to Pumpkln! But I've fixed it for you

I'm glad you got to see the OS and have some "good drugs" ;) and reassurance to help you through this rough patch. Your recovery may be more roundabout than some others but hang in there.

@kneeper. "Roundabout" is one way to describe this crazy journey I'm on ! :dubious:
Thank you for your support !
