THR Cisne on the other side

Doing well...did a little too much going today as sister was in hospital. Front of my thighs still seem awfully sore. Do yours still feel numb or electric sometimes?
LLD due to bad hip I hope. Wonder if your OS would suggest shoe insert or something to offset in meantime?

@Mojo333 im sorry to hear your sister is in the hospital. Yes, my thigh still has numb areas as well as areas w reduced sensation. I think it's pretty common after anterior. Do you ever have the sensation that water is dripping down your leg? It's pretty common for me. Hope today is one where you crest, ice, and elevate.
Michele

Thanks...she hasn't been taking care of her blood sugar properly for a while. Just hope this heals.
That IS exactly the sensation I've been trying to describe. Odd!!!
Not exactly great but if that is the residual consequences to get rid of the unbearable pain I had, it's definitely do-able!!!
Hope you have a great Sunday!!!

What is LLD please @Jaycey ?? If it's left leg different be I think the PA said he will make them as close to even. This is really affecting my bone on bone left hip being all off kilter. Thanks for asking ..hugs

I was close @Jaycey yes it's putting much more pressure on my non operated hip as new hip that seldom bothers me throws me off kilter .

Day 60- Today was my last day home before returning to work tomorrow. I visited all three of my buildings, did some lesson plans, and had lunch with a friend. I also did a quick shopping trip and found a cute dress for tomorrow. In short, I've been up and more active than I've been all summer. The result? I'm swollen and uncomfortable. I've iced and taken a Tramadol. My Fitbit is charging in anticipation of tomorrow. I'm curious to see how many steps I'll get in. The morning will be meetings, with work time in the afternoon. I will be taking my cane as I realized today that my body hurts from limping. I did call to see my osteopath and hope to get in soon. Hope everyone is well.
Michele

@Cisne you might want to tone down your activities as you return to work. Do take that cane and grab some rest time when you can. Can you store ice packs anywhere. Keeping that swelling under control will help ease the discomfort.

Let us know how your return to work goes today. I have a roho cushion for sitting at work and now have it in my car. I got it from a medical store and it takes pressure off the hips and low back. I've never gone to an osteopath, what do they do for you exactly. Good you will be using your cane too, anything to avoid limping which I think sets back getting our gait back to normal. I wish you well Michele. Cheryl

Hi all! Thanks @MyAussieGirl @cpollock @Jaycey for the positive thoughts! It was great to see everyone this morning. After full staff meeting, I spent the morning at one school, and the afternoon at another. I feel like I was fairly productive. I did use the cane all day. I thought I was limp free w it, but a friend/our front office staff told me that I limp less w the cane, but still limp. I am, not surprisingly exhausted! I'm sore but not in a ton of pain. We'll see if that changes tonight! After coming home, and spending some time with family, I took a short nap. I've been in bed most of the afternoon/evening resting. I'll ice in a bit when I'm ready for bed. My mother made a comment when I was at her house today that I shouldn't still be limping. Thoughts on that? Happy 2 months to my hip and to @dougie0216 's as well! Tomorrow is another teacher day. I'll be ordering supplies, and making copies. I might have a chance to sit and ice a bit!
Big,big hugs!
Michele

2 months since surgery most of us had a limp. I don't think their are too many should or supposed to's in life. I think I'd go by what my OS sez not ....um mom on THIS issue ... Everyone is different.

My mother made a comment when I was at her house today that I shouldn't still be limping.
Not exactly a supportive comment. It can take months - sometimes years to correct a limp post op. A lot of it depends on how long you limped around pre-op. Worry not! Just keep working on an even gait and using that cane to prevent a limp.

I think what concerns me is that I didn't limp before surgery.
Ah - but that joint failed and you had several procedures. Muscles atrophy when they are not used fully. It may take awhile to build up strength again. Just give it time - you'll get there!

@Cisne Hi Michele, hard to believe tomorrow is 9-weeks. Our little trip kicked my butt. How is going back to work treating you?I

From reading my emails, I have a pile of work waiting on me. Oh joy...

I was a little depressed Monday into Tuesday. My leg was swollen more than it had been for weeks. Fortunately icing for 10-hours yesterday helped a great deal. I iced for 5 or 6 Monday and it hardly went down at all. I got up this am and it was down to pre-trip levels.

Happy 2 months! Today was my first day back with students. I only see 7 groups on Thursday, so this was a lighter day. Tomorrow, I'll have my usual eight classes. Overall the day went well. I'm exhausted, which isn't surprising. I focused on making sure I ate well and had plenty of water. I sat when I could. I'm now , and icing. I'm not really in any pain, just sore. I could sense the limp getting worse as the day continued. I did have some discomfort on walking. My fellow teachers were very understanding and concerned. Our principal is on crutches post op, so we make quite the team!
Hope everyone is well!
Michele

Hi @Cisne
What wonderful news! Nice you could ease back into it with a two day work week. Soon you'll have the weekend to recover. It certainly is nice your colleagues are understanding, that helps.
I hope tomorrow is as easy..or easier than today.
A great evening to you!
