KSSII I have bi-lateral shoulder replacements too and they work wonderful! I love them and I have NO pain rom them whatsoever! However, They were a long and difficult rehab as well. The hips were the easiest as they are a BIG pain but also they just kinda "work".. The shoulders on the other hand need to be nursed and baby steps with rehab and like the knee are sensitive to overdoing it. But since the knee you need to walk, it is WAY easier to overdo it. But wow, it was so amazing to have the bone on bone pain and I had lots of " traveling" pains down the arm that it caused. Good luck!
For the TKR Someone else told me to forget the weights too, so I think I will skip them. It is so unfair of insurance (what IS fair about the current insurance system? ) that THEY get to decide the pace by which people must heal when each one of us is an individual with varying underlying conditions that might limit our progress...
So bottom line, I will be my own PT by using the info I have learned here and other sites and my own extensive experience with joint replacements... I feel good in my decision. Seems that the majority of complaints I read here regarding pain Come from overdoing it at rehab and ultimately, in the end, everyone seems to end up at the same place, it is just a matter of how difficult they made their recovery and perhaps how fast they expected results. In my experience my body eventually snaps back and does Well... We will see
