Doing well Boss K. Actually starting to feel like I'm entering a new phase of less discomfort
As I say: I'm at a Tylenol discomfort, not a narcotic pain. :).

Yay! Me too. Irritated pain, but not enough to take pain killers.

Going comatose with boredom...

Could you ask someone to take you out for a short drive, or for a quick coffee? Just something to give you a change of scenery might help with the boredom.

If you have a theater with reclining seats go to the movies with a bag of ice in hand.

Good ideas. We are going to try to catch a movie tonight as a matter of fact.:)

Oh good. It'll do you so much good to get out for a change of scenery! Enjoy it!

We went to a favorite local restaurant, and that was nice, but of course is was so crowded we were left with only a high top table, so no way to put up my leg. Still, the food was delicious albeit a little hard on my shrunken stomach. (I'm not quite as sick as I was the first time on meloxicam, but I'm certainly not capable of eating the portion size I used to. Not entirely a bad thing!)
I've been getting out a bit more, which is nice. I think I'm ready for some longer adventures as the restless feeling, quite literally in my legs, seems to be prompting more movement.

Sadly, we had to put down one of our little kitties this week, so getting out of the house was a must. She was the sweetest little runt, but just got too sick in the end to do anything but make her comfortable. It was awful for my daughter as this was the kitty she picked to rescue from the shelter 10 years ago. But my little trooper said, "I was the first to hold her, so I want to be the last to hold her." Heart-wrenching!

I'm sorry to hear you lost that little kitty. It's always a wrench, because they give you unconditional love. I'm proud of your daughter!

Being a good pet parent contains the hard part of knowing when to put them down. I had 13 last year, and lost 4 of them. One was cancer, another aids, another a bowel blockage and the last one Doc didn't know what it was, probably a stroke. I cried over each and every one of them. Taking care of these rescues helped to rehab my knee and give me a reason to get well asap!

I love that we're all pet people. I can tell my other kitty is getting lonely; he barely leaves my side these last few days. I picked up her little paw cast today and it's just the sweetest thing.
I think I overdid the errands (3stops when it should have been 1) while trying not to dwell as my 5 week old knee is very unhappy tonight. I've managed to be off pain meds the last four days, but tonight is going to have to be an exception.

I have to go pick up the paw print plaque from our 17 year old kitty Moo Moo that we had to have put to sleep as well last week. It such a hard decision to make. We have our other two still here and it's strange to not have 3 of them any longer.

I could talk all day long about the benefits of having pets!

Aw, @flyaway79, I am so sad to hear this. Something seems to be in the air. Our poor other kitty is getting confused and lonely, so I think once we return from a short trip, it will be time to visit the shelter and see if we can love on another kitty, for this one's sake.
@sistersinhim, I couldn't have made it through both of these surgeries without my furry friends in the house.

Time off for good behavior! My OS released me from my TEDhose hell yesterday!

Oh man, I know that feels much better! Another step towards recovery!

Hooray for being able to get rid of the TEDS!

Back from Orlando! The mobility scooter was both a blessing and a curse. People just don't see you in an amusement park setting when you're in one! But it sure gets you to the front of the line! Tried the new water park there, and had a fun time, though there were a LOT of stairs even beyond the few rides with elevators. The last day I gave up on the scooter and ended up walking over 3 miles. I had the sense enough to leave my hubs and daughter to close the park, get myself back to the hotel, and start icing. Thank goodness for the little ice buckets and bags!
Unfortunately now my IT band has tightened up just like it did on the first knee. I have PT tomorrow though I am already out of insurance covered ones. My PT said he'd just have me go through the exercises he still wants me doing.
Even though I was warned the second knee goes worse than the first, I'd say I'm an exception and this one is going far better. Tomorrow marks the beginning of my 8th week since surgery so I'm doing remarkably well. ROM is about 115. Trying to be patient as all those great Colorado trails are calling!!
