Just want to give a shout out to a couple of our friends today, Aussie Girl.

I'm sure we all often benefit from the words of another on this site. I certainly have. But I want to thank
@GrannyC for her simple but common sense advice. It always feels like a breath of fresh air to me. She's someone you just want to sit down and have coffee with......love her!

Second, @Mojo333 wise, honest, self deprecating fun. I must have gone over her post several times about how her eyes could be bleeding but her sister gets the sniffles and soup arrives! Also that she's coming back as a blonde bimbo who can't even carry her own groceries.......gotta love that' Mojo too!

Don't know how I would have survived the first couple weeks without my BS buddies!

@Layla I couldn't have said it better myself.

I hope you are doing good @MyAussieGirl and are on the mend. To me you are a very strong lady to have gone all you have and still be plugging along as you are. Are you off to the beach Today? That seems to lift your spirits and it's doing something you love. I wish you well. Cheryl

Today is my birthday MyAussieGirl...Im gonna go have 2 drinks...one for you and one for me and something good for dinner. I had a good nights sleep, for the most part until my Shihtzu decided he might have to go check out something in the yard at 2:30, but the Food Bank had been fairly benign today, all donations picked up, all volunteers helpful, done, and outa here and I have time to check on my buds. Leaving here at 4 EST...AND CALLING IT A WEEK.

Birthday girl first tonight. @Mojo333 I love that drink for me. I saw no food listed.... I love their chips and that sauce to dip them in it's queso sauce best in the Universe . Trust me I know I was the queen of Saturn most of my grade school days. I had a pretty good day but just got in gotta catch up. I love your dog and those face Kisses
 
No beach today @cpollock but I am just in and praying your Anniversary went well ... I saw company and out to eat sounds good. I'll check with you LATER to see if you're too buzzed to be posting

OMG @britt , wow thank you for coming to my thread when you're going through what seems much worse. Surgery and no insurance ... I would weep. That you are soon totally pain free IMO makes it worth it.... You're right on once pain is gone it makes it easier to deal with the bills. I am so sorry you're going through all that but.....much happier that you did it and on the way to well :welome::spin::yes!:

I am with you I know it's healthier to express myself but sometimes it's so hard. I've been in the role as care giver so many times it's an adjustment to say I am fed up :curtsey::catbutterfly:
 
I am going to have news for you soon dear @GrannyC ...it will be a day or 2 but it's made me smile all day. I have news tonight too.

Garden sweetie nothing pickable yet. Tomatoes are well the plants are huge, ditto our potatoes...hubby has other stuff but I don't go look at them much. I know we don't have lettuce of any sort
We are behind you I think growing season wise. My state is colder by far

We didn't go to the beach it was a pretty day but very breezy... doesn't help ole ladies like me getting out of the lake. So we shopped. Lots. Hit the library and man I am beat.

I used the name Layla as it's what my grandson (my son's son) calls me.
We have no idea why, or where he got it from.

My other two grandkids, my daughters children, call me Gari. Firstborn grandchild couldn't say granny but called me Gari and it stuck! Neither my daughter, or I know how to spell it so we figured ending it in an "i" felt more feminine, silly, huh? So three grandkids and no one calls me grandma!!

So I answer to mom, Layla, Gari, Cindy and possibly whatever anyone else may call me, lol!
 
UPDATE :. Slept well ...well with extra sleeping pills, felt pretty good today. We ate out nothing fancy but I finally got my grilled white flaky yummy fish... I've been craving it.

Rash is almost gone.

I stopped to get my insulin and normally my copay is $15.00. It was free....um it cost BCBS $404.76 .. I got home looked at my insurance policy. First surgery lol OMG met my deductible and out of pocket. I am thinking this next hip to ME ....bwaaaaaa hahaha FREE
 
Lol Layla it's one of my favorite songs. Your grandkids smart to pick it for you. At least your family doesn't call you by the ole dead dog's name like my Husband's mom calls him lol Tony his name I'd TOM the non saint. My mom when vexed would call me Missy.....she's been gone since I was in my 20s....crazy loopy lady. You ought to be @LoopyLayla @Layla :good-bad:

My day was good. I finally did a pedicure myself! Made me happy :yay: Took me awhile but I did it.
Just had a steak dinner that hubby grilled for my grand daughter and I who we're babysitting.
She's finally falling asleep. So.....I'm watching tv and catching up
on my Bonesmart buddies, like you. Tomorrow I really need to concentrate on getting my house back in order.
It's been neglected for a month :gaah:but I had a legit excuse lol!
Tomorrow......back to biz!

I can't wait to hear your news @MyAussieGirl . If it has made you smile all day, it sounds like good news so now I'm getting very anxious to hear it. I'll keep watching your thread.

It sounds like you had a great day - slept well, meds for free, rash nearly gone, out to eat and more. I hope today the good continues - maybe even to the beach :SUNsmile:
