Mike, it's pretty common to have some odd feelings (maybe even some pain twinges) for the first year. I think you'll notice this feeling less and less as time goes by.

Hi Mike, good to hear from you and pleased that your recovery is going pretty good.

I go back to work next week, part time, just three days a week... Can't say I am looking forward to it, but it is a new year and retirement is getting closer :)

Cheers

Mike, sitting for long periods was very hard for me post-op. But this does disappear. The muscles around the joint need to tighten and tone. It's not the joint you are feeling. Just soft tissue still healing.

Need lots of soft pillows. Soft tissue healing takes quite a while along with the muscles.. But we will get there :)

Hi every one, good day from the land of the long white cloud. How is all my Hippie buddy's, just a short note to say I am still on the road to full recovery and getting stronger every day. I am walking a lot further now and the hills are not such a pain any more. I still find my self getting in and out a car the safe way as there is still slight pain in my inner thigh.

Funny you should mention this Mike. I still get out of the car that way and it's been a long time since my THR.

So glad you are doing well. Long may it continue!

Good for you, Mike!!! That's what we love to hear.

Hiya Kiwi buddy

I think it is very sensible of you to take precaution getting in and out of the car. I think we have these practices imbedded in our sub conscious and that is a good thing... What does it matter anyway?

I think, I will always sleep with a pillow between my knees when on my unoperated side.. Not sure how that works when I have the other hip done.

Oh! This hills! Everything is flat where I am in OZ.

Take care xx

Hi every one,:thumb: I have not posted for quiet a while. I have been so busy catching up on all my jobs around home and with work never get time to get on the computer. I am doing fine, hip is good and thinking about getting back into some tramping again. Still get a little pain in my butt if I sit too long. The summer in NZ has been a reel disappointed this year. We have had so much rain and before you know it, Autumn is here.

Hi, Mike!!! Good to hear from you and to know you're doing well. I think the weather is a little funky everywhere these days! I hope you get to dry out soon. Maybe you'll have a lovely, warm fall!

Hi every one popping in to see how every one is doing. My hip is just great, the only thing I find is it gets a bit sore after sitting in my patrol car for too long. I have to get out and walk around for a while, when I get home go for a good walk and it feels better.

Hi my kiwi friend! Sounds like life across the ditch has almost returned to normal.

I can so relate to being stiff after sitting for a while. I try to force myself to get up ever 45 mins at work..

Thanks for stopping by on my thread, it is so nice to see old friends pop in :)

Hey, Mike!!! It's good to hear you're doing well. Those aches will lessen as time goes by. You're doing the right thing by stretching a bit now and then.

Happy Easter kiwi buddie :)

Hope you are not working this weekend?

Just popping in to say hi, doing well. Got back into my tramping, hip is really good. I love coming back to this site, it's the only time I called a junior member.

Hey kiwi buddy, great to hear from you :)

how goes work?

Great that the tramping is going well. I used to do it on a little one, but haven't tried it lately... I am spending a week walking hills whilst on leave.

you will just have to come back more often and get to 100 posts and then you become a member.

Lovely to hear from you :)
