Re: Another small step forwad to reclaiming my life!
Okay, I need some smarties!
My knee is doing GREAT
I am however having problems with a muscle. seems to be my hamstring the lateral part of my leg (thigh) where it would seem muscle is attaching to tendon. My PT helped me find the spot last night, he also agrees it is hamstring issue but he has NEVER had a TKR person have this pain.
we are THINKING it is related to horrible surgery I had in 1987 that we think is one of these surgeries listed here
The Seventies Extra-articular Reconstructions
1972, D. L. MacIntosh or 1975, M. Lemaire, likely the Lamaire.

the surgery lasted 1 yr! to the day when my entire knee blew out and I had a then 4th surgery when 1/3 of patella tendon used as a graft for my acl, that surgery worked GREAT.
back to current issue
Here are the issues we have figured out, the pain his sharp, it is new, likely from putting the chains on my car? I have a hard very sore lump size of Lima bean or a bit bigger that is very close to the top of the old incision from the 1987 surgery.
Hurts MOST when my knee is bent and then I try to stand up,,, and I for example - try to get out of a chair, or other "seated situations <G>" We also modified my leg press to less flex (as that was hurting as well as my squats, if I did my squat too deep it was VERY painful.) as long as I do not try to engage that muscle when my leg is bent past 90 % the pain is very minor or not at all, if it is bent too much the pain is VERY sharp like being stabbed.
it is very likely that my knee now at 130 degrees has not bent that far in YEARS and this is another part of the puzzle.
So currently my directions are NOT to do anything that bothers it! and see if it settles down.
My KNEE itself feels GREAT, just looking to see if anyone has any ideas, experience with this?
thanks!
