Anne's Right Hip Replacement

Sending positive happy thoughts your way today for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. I look forward to seeing you on the other side!!

Just heard from Anne's brothers. She is in her room resting comfortably. She said she would be in the hospital through Sunday. Anne told me her doctor said she'd have to wear the compression stockings for 6 weeks and give herself injections in the stomach for blood clots. I don't remember other UK people talking about the injections although I know many people have to (or are supposed to) wear the stockings.

Good news! Hope she's home by now. I just finished my series of injections this week; not my favorite thing, but tolerable, especially when it was only for 10 days.

Anne is at our Aunt Mary's. Everything is on one level there, whereas at her house, the bathroom and bedroom are up a steep flight of stairs. Her son said she was experiencing some discomfort but not too bad. Now, if I can just get her here to give an update! I am sure she and my Aunt (who I visited in April) are just sitting in the living room drinking endless cups of tea like I did when I was there!

@kayak59 - how soon did you start to kayak again?
I am kayaking as much as I can, but getting out after a few hours is a killer!
