TKR 2nd TKR - 6/26/2025 - repeating same good BS post op protocols!

Those zingers will be with you for a while as the nerves reattach and start functioning again.

I think your golfing plan is just fine just as long as you don’t see an increase in the swelling or pain afterwards. That would be a signal to slow it down some. You’re right that mental health plays an important role in recovery, so it’s good to find things you enjoy that you can do in these early months.

Thanks, @Jamie. Yep, will be tuned in to how the knee responds after activity. Also don’t know what my ROM is but I can go up and down stairs without issue so really not concerned on the numbers.

Any opinions on meloxicam va Advil to make swelling disappear?

Both are NSAIDs and are helpful with inflammation and swelling. The Meloxicam is stronger than Advil and may do a better job for some people. It’s also more convenient because it is stronger and you don’t take as many pills each day when using it following surgery. If either of them give you any stomach upset, you need to be cautious with continuing them. You might try the Advil and see if it works for you. Because it’s not as strong, it would be more likely not to cause any stomach issues. You will need to take it on a schedule throughout the day and night for the best effectiveness.
