Mine is scheduled for the 28th. I know I'll be so much more comfortable after, I have bone on bone now and ouchy, but after looking at the incisions, I have to say I'm a little nervous.....
@Polar69. Bet your anxious but you have to be excited at the prospect of being rid of that terrible hip OA pain. I just turned 54 and the last five years for an otherwise healthy energetic woman was a struggle and drain to say the least. Sleep became impossible. I had double hip replacement May 1st and just woke up from a pain-free 8 hour reviving sleep.I understand that spinal is the preferred way to go, It is certainly my surgeon's choice. I had it with my first replacement a few years ago and will again for the next one on 8/24. You will not be awake, as they give you meds that keep you unaware during the procedure. I know I felt much better after the spinal than I ever did with full general.Hello , I had my pre opp last week. I was a bit surprised to find out that I won't be having a general anaesthetic, but a spinal block. Are any of you guys in the same boat. I'm having posterior thr.
You won't be "hearing stuff" as they give you meds to keep you unaware during the procedure. The spinal leaves you feeling much better afterwards than general anesth.Mine is scheduled for the 28th. Has anyone else had a total replacement that lives alone?
I am allergic to anesthesia so I will have to have a spinal, as did one lady here from Canada. I had my knee scoped while I was awake and watching. I was actually pretty neat. I was, however, a little concerned about "hearing" stuff but I would enjoy watching the procedure.
