@Layla 2 years...what a momentous occasion. You are so helpful to all of us, and have made our journey smoother. Have a wonderful summer. Sending hugs......Diana
@Fit4Family just checking in on you. You are getting there.....patience will win the day. When do you see your OS next?
The deep tissue massage sounds great. Prior to my thr, I was going to a physio therapist who had me lying on my tummy, and giving me an excellent massage on my butt...
@Layla thank you for checking in. I feel great, and back to my regular walking and swimming. I like cycling, but will stick to the stationery bike. The OS said the joint is healing well, and I don't return until my 1 year post surgery mark. I have no pain, and I am feeling good. What more...
Happy 3 month anniversary to you @Fit4Family . I like the idea of pool walking. I think that will be part of my summer to dos. Your path in getting a THR is similar to mine, with the hip pinnibg first, then the THR after getting avascular necrosis. The first thing the OS said to me prior to...
@upser I think you need to be more patient with your recovery. I was very active prior to my surgery, and learned so much from this forum......and the one thing that hit home to me from the experts on this forum, was that the hip heals well without doing pt. I am not saying that you should...
@upser I am sorry to hear about your challenges. I had my RTHR done on March 7th this year.
Joint hip replacement patients are at high risk of blood clots after surgery. My OS prescribed daily self injections of Fragmin for 29 days following surgery.
It also sounds like you are going back...
Thank you @Layla and @Fit4Family I see my OS on Monday. They do a follow up xray, just to make sure all is good. I am feeling great, and almost normal again. It certainly didn't happen overnight, but slowly over time.
My OS is on the conservative side, and doesn't ok driving until 3 month...
Thank you @Layla for posting the link for leg length differences. @lhart I would give it time. I will be 3 months post op on the 7th of June. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I felt a little difference in my leg length. I don't feel like that anymore. The correction didn't happen over...
Thankyou @Layla. Things are going well. In BC, when you have a total RIGHT hip replacement, you aren't allowed to drive until the orthopedic surgeon gives you clearance at the 3 month mark. I think I am ready, but if you are in an accident, the insurer will not cover it, even it it is the...
@Fit4Family congratulations on another milestone. I am at 8 weeks, and improvements continue to happen daily. What surprises me, is some of the things you wonder when and will they be possible again, suddenly become possible once again. All the best in your continued progress, and enjoy your...
@Brokefemur you are a very inspiring lady. I enjoy reading your posts. You are definitely in the right place here. I can't even begin to express what being here has done for me. I am also inspired by the regular posters, who dedicate their time to support all of us. You know who you are...
