Happy New Year!!! :flwrysmile:Many wishes for a healthy and happy 2016 for all!!! I am very happy to report that Mr Hippie is doing great. It has been 7 months since his TLHR. Life is back to normal for both of us. Amazing.
This time last year, he was in so much pain he had to retire from his...
:yay:@daniel95503, I have been wondering how you and hubby were doing!! I pop on and off here every once in a while. My DH is 4 months down the road and doing great. Walking more and farther than ever!! And enjoying it.
So happy that things are looking up for you. Before you...
@Molly12 and @simon67 I hope you are feeling better soon. My husband is at the 10 week mark. He is feeling great and wants to go dig up a garden for me! No way, no how, it's not going to happen. :no-fin:
I may be babying him but walking a mile or two a day, doing lots of chores around the...
@Jaycey, @Cynthia777 happy to be able to report such a positive outcome. Truly Bonesmart Forum had a very big part in this effort. Howie just walked 3 miles! An amazing accomplishment for a man that has never liked to walk. Healthy hips or not! :egypdance:
Cheers, Denise
@Liznwiz, Howie just went up stairs "normally" yesterday at two months. He is doing great but still doesn't have his full strength back yet.
Toilets......what an issue! We are at a hotel where our toilet is about 12" off the floor. :no-fin:
Hubby has to go to the Lobby restroom and use the...
Hi Everyone!
Mr Hippie's surgery was two months ago yesterday. On Monday, he saw his OS and all is fine! We are in Monterey celebrating!!! :dancy:
He is still using a cane to make sure he keeps his gait even. No big deal, he looks dashing. :roseshwr:
We have a few thoughts that might help...
Best of everything for your hubby! Will look for your next post. My hubby is now at 6 weeks post op and doing great. He was ready and raring to go by the time his surgery date came.
Cheers, Denise
Hi there. Today is 5 weeks since Howie's LTHR and our 49th wedding anniversary. :loveshwr:I am happy to say that he is doing great. In the past week he has been going out and about with me. He was released to drive on Tuesday. Yes, @Jaycey, I was so worried about him getting in a car and now...
@Cherie The secret to Kaiser IMHO is to find a really good GP. They are your best bet to lead you through the maze. Mr. Hippie's GP took one look at his hip X-ray and we had an appointment with the OS within three hours. Surgery was scheduled within six weeks. We are in Northern California but I...
Hello! Progress report for Mr. Hippie.
It has been almost three weeks since his LTHR. The progress has been nothing short of amazing to me. He is walking with a much smoother gait. He got rid of the "bridesmaid" walk as our PT called it. He is standing taller after crouching over two canes for...
Great to hear about your progress. Mr Hippie also had a rash but it was only on the operated leg. Lasted a week and now is gone. When he had his staples out on Friday, the doctor wasn't concerned unless it got worse.
Cheers, Denise
