BTKR on 1 April. I had an amazingly easy recovery but now at 4 months, I feel like I have hit a wall. Right leg is doing very well but that pesky left knee has got me so frustrated. It doesn't hurt to walk normally but still hurts to lift leg, walk up stairs and get up from a sitting position...
This is the view from the back of our summer house in Idaho. This is what I see everyday. While revamping my grateful attitude, this and my new knees are at the top of my list. I'm feeling motivated to get this rehab finished in this peace environment.

Thank you @Lovestoread, you are so right! I'm 100% better with the walking. No pain at all. I have no regrets at all doing both knees at once. I had such an easy recovery in the beginning, I foolishly thought I would be completely healed by now. Just a short little pity party, I'm back...
Ok, I'm 15 weeks post op. WHY does it still hurt to get up from chairs and walk up and down stairs? I'm so frustrated and over this whole rehab thing!!! I'm thinking this us taking way too long and there's a problem. I just need a reason to keep pushing myself!
@Spider, I flew a 2 1/2 hour flight 6 weeks after BTKR. I had no problems. I allowed a little more time to get to gate and paid for the extra leg room. I didn't wear compression hose but I did get up every hour and walked a bit and did a few ankle pumps throughout the flight. I was off pain meds...
Thank you! I'm thinking it might be because I am working those quad muscles really hard at PT. I do notice it more in the evening after a particular hard PT session. I just need to be PATIENT!

Just want to throw a question out to everyone. I'm just about 9 weeks post op. I've had an amazingly easy recovery and I'm very grateful for that. The only area I seem to be lagging is getting up from chairs and toilets. I'm still having to use the arm rails and it's a bit painful. Is this...
I took a 2 1/2 flight 5 week after having BTKR. I paid for extra leg room and took the early boarding.i walked a couple of times up the aisle. The only problem I had was going through security. I set alarms off going through the scanner. I had the pat down. Oh joy!

You have a wonderful positive attitude! It will help you immensely in the recovery and I adore your husband for offering to get you street drugs! Unconditional love! Hang in there!
BTKR 1 April 2014
I'm 5'5" 160 lbs. I went to the gym almost everyday before my April BTKR. I thought I was in pretty good shape. I just read my surgery report today and I was described as a 56 yr old obese female. I was more than a little surprised. I just don't understand why some of these OS's are so hung up...
I did the same thing at about four weeks. It was the ONLY way I could get any restful sleep. Desperate times call for desperate measures! I'm 8 weeks out now and sleeping in any position I want which happens to be my stomach. All of a sudden it just happened. I went to bed on my back with legs...
