@FionaW I skimmed over your recovery posts and am glad to see that you are doing well. I also saw that you have arthritis in other joints as well, which is a problem that I am enduring myself. In fact I am facing a left knee replacement possibly within the next 6 months or so. Hope that all continues to improve for you!!

Thanks Bill @fulafoto , @JustJeff and Donna @mystikfairy61 :) I came home to bed, and 'iced and elevated' to try to avoid any risk of swelling, and all is well this morning. :)

Donna, yes, I have arthritis in (at least) my feet, knees, wrists, hands and jaw. My other hip seems OK, thankfully. I am likely to need a knee replacement or two at some point, but I am hoping that this THR will let me increase my activity levels and loose some weight, so that I can delay that for as long as possible. Luckily currently the ostephytes are 'only' behind my kneecaps, rather than in the load-bearing joints, so that bodes well. My OS has mentioned foot surgery, but the feet joints are much more complex than hips, so I'm not keen...

Bill, it's beautiful round here - that view is not the best I could show you, by a long shot! It's one of the reasons I'm so keen to be able to walk again - I really miss hill-walking. Shall I post some other pics for you, from walks in years gone by? :) I'm liking your new thumbnail, btw. :)

Good girl Fiona for icng and elevating and glad your all good today. I would love to see some more pics from your area thankyou very much and that is one thing that we miss as well - not so much hill walking but my DW and I love going for bush walks and plan on doing quite a few when I am a hippie.
Thanks re the avatar too!! That is a shot from a few years ago (more laugh lines and creases these days) when I was playing with self portraits and off camera flash.

Thanks @teakea66 ! :)
Bill @fulafoto , you don't know what you've let yourself in for, saying you'd love to see some photos!
I have hundreds, but I've picked just 8! This doesn't include one of my favourites, taken on my birthday a couple of years ago when I last went for a hill walk with my boys, because I realise it's on an old computer... Maybe another time.
The pond/water one is my favourite swimming spot - I love it... :) But I can't get into it at the mo because there's a bit of a scramble and I'd break my restrictions!
The leafy overhung one is the canal towpath to that swimming spot.
The one with the roof-tops is the view from my old house; I lived there over 20 years but had to move last summer because I could no longer manage the stairs.
The one with the wooden balcony is the view from the terrace of the park cafe just up the road from me now, which you've heard so much about!
All the others were taken further up in the hills, within 5-8 miles of my house...
You can see why I want to get walking again, can't you?! :tada:

What a pretty place! Just getting there would certainly be motivating. Happy you're doing so well!!

Oh my lord Fiona.... I am in love again... Those photos are soooo lovely; the reflections, that gorgeous bridge but the one I totally fell in love with was that pathway with the autumn leaves.... Oh my goodness they are all so stunning Fiona... and what a view while sipping a cuppa... Yes I can definitely see why you want to get walking again and I don't blame you one iota - it is wonderful and thank you so much for posting them xx
