@donor I have a sports car too!
I even have to use my cane to push the door open or pull it closed! Haha so maddening! I can just see you standing there thinking how in the world am I going to get into/ out of my own car! Poor girl! :tantrum2:
I drove to the store for new pants~ I Have lost weight and am "sagging"! I realized I needed help so took a good friend who helped me get my feet in the legs to try them on! Of course I bought her a Starbucks! It's like we celebrate the steps forward but darn it it's still not easy! :hairpulling:

Why is it that ladies with errrr a few years can carry off the sports car thing yet men just look sad trying to get in and out

:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:9 weeks completed. Seeing steady improvement but still plenty of goals to work toward. As much as i hate stairs i have to get over it and plow ahead. Lots of concentrating on glutes & core muscles as i push up each step. You'd think i was training for a marathon, and I am! The loosey goosey sensation is getting better as i firmup the thigh muscles and muscles around my knees. The clicking sound in my knee is disappearing. I am working on longer strides that stretch those muscles in the pool and on land.
@webbie73 how are things going? Are you ready for your conference? I hope you are able to 'live in the moment' and enjoy every single moment doing what you enjoy while there. I still have a skirt to hem and a bit of shopping to do prior to the wedding next weekend. (Shopping has never been high on my list.) The funnest part will be being w my family who were so helpful in my recovery, they will be amazed, as am i. My in-laws are in town for the 4th so lots of celebrating all around. :yahoo:

@wcgirl, I am back on the cane mostly because of the knee. My stairway climbing was great but now is going backwards in progress also because of the knee. Sigh. I worked my butt if at PT this week on the muscle building machines!!! Achey today but a good achey. I am heading to to pool with thoughts of going easy and just loosening up the muscles I worked so hard.

We will have a quiet weekend. The town puts on a fireworks display so we will see that.

This is the time of year we usually go to the beach but I have given that up since my melanoma diagnosis 3 years ago. I do miss walking along the water's edge.

Have fun this weekend!!

Noooo your not?, you are? Naaaa never? Going to take it easy? Me thinks its a good idea everyone has to recharge sometime. Have a grand weekend lass

11 weeks and amazed, just amazed. I danced my hip off at the wedding!! Great live band most from Berkeley College in Boston. With all my PT I had pretty good stamina and kept up with all my nieces and nephews and their significant others! Back home last nite and slept like a babe.:dancy:

Good for you! Wedding sounds like fun -I don't think I could dance the night away and I am starting my 17th week. Happy for you!
:martini:

@wcgirl well done all that dancing and I bet no one knew the enormity of your op yippee!

12+ weeks = 3 mos!! The weeks seem to be flying by now … not like weeks 4-8. Now summer is here and family arrived for a week. No way I can sit and skip the fun! Last 2 years I've had to pass on so many activities. No more! I do have to remind myself that 'YES! I can do that now!' Yesterday I walked to the bakery. Well, you can guess my incentive. HA! I had some thigh pain still getting used to my new implant, but it abated during the day. Of course dietary changes with little ones around so I'll be back on track this week. Up and down stairs, stripping beds, I suddenly remember what I couldn't do without a struggle. I've signed up for more PT so that I can fully participate in those activities that I had to stop. That goal date is 6 months. I really enjoy my PT which includes exercises in the pool. I did go to the beach but the wave activity made me nervous 'I think I can, I think I can!' I'm still in protective mode but need to reconsider and decide if it is old fears getting in the way. And I still work on energy drain and remember to reach for the good foods esp now that I am more active.

That fear is normal. I was afraid to get on my bike, afraid to get in my kayak, afraid to get in the shower and so on but it all comes back when you are ready and its all good. I have put on weight -big belly now - ever since I became active but it is hard to get serious in the summer with ice cream, beer, lots of company and ice cream.
You are inspiring me @wcgirl! Thanks.

13 weeks and today was a really lazy day! I guess the weekend caught up with me. I forgot to eat breakfast this morning… really?! Time for my version of fish tacos tonite -- actually wraps with yummy salsas. Guests coming tomorrow for a couple days and a changeover for the weekend when we head out 1 1/2 hour drive for a birthday brunch for my mom 91 years! The summer has really been cooking… literally! I guess my body told me to slow down a bit. But it is so good to feel almost normal. It's hard not to pick up the pace.

Chortle, you are so right to be celebrating what is in effect getting your life back. You are an inspiration in the way you face things and your smiling style of posting. Have a great weekend

So, yesterday went to PT and therapist got the protractors out and announced that my range of motion is officially normal! Maybe it was the dancing? I'm floating on air. Now to make my followup OS appointment to get the okay to participate and some fun activities.:happydance:
