Thanks for the hugs and good wishes! I am so happy, but also nervous, as I was the first time. At least I know what to expect. It's going to be so nice not to have the loud cracking noise in my left hip (and sometimes left knee) when bending even just a little. It doesn't hurt but is an awful feeling. Has anyone else had this experience? FYI, right hip replacement was in March 2015, left will be on Oct 5, 2015. Just wondering if I should be telling the surgeon about this cracking, or if it's something that will just be fixed during the surgery.

Two weeks until my surgery!! Can't wait. Have stopped my naproxen, as they asked me to stop it 2 weeks before my first surgery. Cannot get hold of my surgeon to ask what I can take for these two weeks. I was also taking oxycodone 4mg, usually 3 times a day. Did a little Internet research and am thinking that I should also stop the oxy during these two weeks, but again, cannot get hold of the surgeon's office to ask!!!! So guess it's Tylenol arthritis, this will not be pretty, folks!

I had to drop the naproxen too. Here hoping you can divert yourself away from the crunch.

How time flies when you're having fun...ummmm...not fun! Im so happy for you! Yes, wonderful holidays are in store for you. Come November, will you be an empty nester or do you have other young'uns still living at home? I can truly say (at least for me), I absolutely loved and hated being an empty nester! Fortunately, my 28 year old daughter runs her online vintage clothing store out of two of my guest rooms, so I get to see her 5 days a week.
It helps ease the transition.
Good luck...I'll be watching for your recovery thread! :-)

@Cynthia777 just saw your post, sorry, I had started to write back on the pre-op side.... No only the one! So truly an empty nester! Good that you see your daughter all week. Life is changing, my baby boy is all grown up! I'll be posting here again on Monday. Take care.

Both my daughters are at uni so seeing me has slipped down their event list, as it should be they are forging their own lives and I couldn't be prouder than seeing them cement good happy independant lives. I tell them just keep in touch and they do either watsapp, text or phone. Chortle its amazing how often i get a message after they have overindulged or panicking about exams. Debbs lass your heading towards that hurdle that you will soar over and a whole new life will open out in front of you without the handicap of pain. Go girl

Hi @DebraR I see that you are due to have your second hip done tomorrow so I just wanted to wish you luck for tomorrow.I had my second one done a week tomorrow and found that I am more calm and less anxious as I know what to expect.I will look out for your first postop post.
 
Thank you all for your encouraging words! Sitting here with my coffee (my lord, it is 11:20am!!!) -I've been sleeping so long these days, could be the drugs or maybe my body is instinctively building up its strength for what's to come. Hugs to all of you!
 
@Kim22 hip no2 is over for you and you're a week in. That's amazing, once I am on the other side of this one, I will read your (and others') threads and get caught up with what's been happening in your worlds.
 
Will be thinking of you tomorrow it will soon be all over.
