All Awesome. :yes!: I'm happy for you, Jenny! :yay:
I hope you can take a cozy nap now

:flwrysmile:Hope your nap was refreshing. Wonderful news all around.

Great news! And being able to drive is such a freeing experience!

Took a long nap... like 3 hours long!
Super stiff but feeling ok. Nice to not by laying on 52 staples tho!

Just studying my old xrays. Looking at the bone spurs makes me shiver. Glad my husband was with me and could see... felt validating!

I have mixed feelings on starting to work from home, but my boss and team are really good about understanding that it’s far from all-in. I will work “as tolerated” between rest and walks and PT, etc.

My old x-rays affected me that way, too, @JennyLynne Seeing how out of whack my pelvis was and the way it was all shoved together by the end stage OA was disconcerting. I'll be interested to see how things look on my new X-Ray next week at my follow up.

Have a restful evening and enjoy your family

:happydance:Great for reassuring OS visit...staples out and a good snooze:sleep:

My BTHR is now 2 years old.
Thought you might like to fast forward two years...
No hip pain...walking like a regular human being after years of limping and hobbling and leaning on anything I could find.
Sleeping! Oh my stars...how sleep deprivation and pain had quashed my formerly happy demeanor .
Appreciative of all the little things still, but able to live life without total Hips on the Brain.
Happy parenthesis shaped scars on my thighs that I'm proud to have...proof of a recovery journey that has given me my life back.
Keep the faith!

I am so amazed by you @JennyLynne. You are doing so great with your recovery. I am terrified of recovering with one new hip, can’t imagine doing it with two. The blues you were feeling sounds a lot like what I experienced after my second was born. For six weeks I stayed home all day with the baby while my husband and daughter went out and had all sorts of fun. I needed to get my daughter out of the house so I could have some quiet time with the babes, but it was so hard feeling like I couldn’t do anything. I’m sure it’ll get better as you regain some of your mobility. In the meantime, keeping hanging in there. You’re doing great!

Hi, I’m 42 and getting ready for hip replacement on June 5. When did you have your sx?

@Mojo333 I can’t thank you enough for your post. Woke up feeling blue... headache, stiff, grumpy. You remind me that the best is yet to come!

Yesterday was such a big day... first outing, nasty staples removed.... and yet I met myself feel down already today. Need to look out to the horizon and not down at my hips. Play the long game!

@Tarajeane my surgery was April 15. LAbabymama (who you quoted) is having her surgery today!

If you have the same weather as we do today right across the border, shaking the blues might be a challenge! I have a girlfriend in Midland, MI and we can often forecast for each other or be in the same weather pattern.
You might be a bit tired from your outing yesterday. That is quite a feat this early out with 2 new hips so just go with the flow and call your own shots today.

Just had PT and it went well. She is very impressed with where I am. I told her I don’t like bridges and she said “then DONT do them! Nothing that hurts, ever.” Always a relief to have PT support.

@Carriemay60 the weather is dreadful! Flooding all over, more rain coming. Certainly contributes to my gloominess today! Hoping for some dry skies this weekend so I can start taking walks outside.

Kudos to your PT! You can keep her!! Our flooding is horrendous here as well. Apparently warmer and some sun over the weekend so really hopeful I can get out and enjoy it just a bit. The first time I walked outside was a tremendous boost for me so hope you can get one in soon!

Hoping you have sunshine, @JennyLynne , and can get outside for a walk and to soak up some vitamin D! it does a body good!
