Yesterday, I paid $7 for 8oz at Fresh Market
Today, I found 2lbs for $9 at Albertsons
My son loves the stuff. I may have created a grilled cheese monster.
 
Don't you LOVE the Fresh Market??????
If yours is like ours, it's SO upscale....awesome meat counter!!! We like their steak and chicken kabobs......so yummy.
 
For my retirement, I treated myself to one of their huge steaks. They're only 1/4 mile from my house so if I'm in a bind for supper, I run up and get a couple of their stuffed chicken breast.
And there is no rap music playing.
 
Is the Fresh Market a chain or something on the east coast?
 
We have half a steer in our freezer and it is delicious. Raised by a friend. And we have a great farmers' market here in the spring-fall. All the local produce places are open now, so lots of great fresh stuff. Have you ever had fresh broccoli? It is incredible and so mcuh better than what you buy at the store.
 
No Freshmarket in the Northeast. Southerm thing maybe. Sounds like their prices are way high comapred to albertson's. Some people in our church have done that. go halves on a cow for the freezer.
 
Now I thought Albertsons was the southern store.
Skeet, Fresh Market is a great store for fresh produce. Great meat. It is an upper crust type store that carries other unusual items. It is pricey.

Skeet, I have grown broccoli in my garden and it IS much better than store stuff. Also, I learned to use the leaves (broccoli rabe) too. It is yummy steamed and tossed with just a little bacon grease (I know, I know....NOT healthy....but it tastes GOOD). Of course I just threw the bacon out when I cooked it to get the grease. Ha!!! LOL
 
Jamie, I know that bacon taste too well. Can't have it now so I do turkey bacon... ought to be a crime to mess with bacon like that.

Albertson's is here in the northwest. I miss my piggly wiggly though. And if Fresh Market is like Trader Joe's, then it is a fun place. Unfortunately, we live so far from things like that - at least 45-60 minutes and sometimes 2 hours if we have to go to Portland.
 
Fresh Market is VERY foofoo. They even peel their freakin' onions.....nice, pristeen white, shiny onions with their root still in place. They're beautiful!!! It's a small market - ....high end foods.....classical music playing....no childish stuff....VERY foofoo.....food is displayed like a work of art......fresh carmalized onion Focaccia to sample...so yum. THE best meat and produce of anywhere.
 
I like their bins of nuts and dried fruits.............i know I'm gonna regret posting this.
 
So Doug, you don't look at knees but you do check out the bins of nuts & fruits?
