TKR This time I am doing it right and having a blast

Tashia if you feel you still need the pain medication, then go see your family doctor. I am sure he/she will prescribe something. Instead of making the dosing go longer, have you thought about taking a 1/2 a tablet instead? Just a thought, thats what I do when I am ready to cut down.

What part of the country do you live in? I know I am in southern Calif and the northern part of our state is getting slammed with some big storms. Is that the area where you are? Hugs!

Nanners, It is my family doctor that is giving me the problem. What he did share with me is he is needed a hip replacement. I believe when he does he will be so much more informed on the subject. However I do have to say this I wouldn't wish this on anybody. It really stops your life. Come to think about it having you hip get worn out causes a challenge. It would be nice if one day they find a solution to keep the joints from wearing out. Yes I do live in that northern part. Thank you for caring. take care

The sun is shining and all the roads are almost dry. The clouds are moving in for rain tomarrow which is not to be much. I feel so sorry for those who are flooded, the coming rain will overwhem them I'm sure. Had a cool dream I need to share. I was walking to a store and a dog jumped into my arms. It was cold and wet so I brought it home to get it dry and feed. It became my new family member. Wouldn't that be so cool? When I was in college a Professor told everyone to listen to their dreams. It would be cool to have a new member to start the new year with. Well I have to get all my decorating done and take pictures of them. Then I get go and get the my new member. Everyone do be careful driving out there it is really bad with all the stuff in the road. Do take care. :bicycle1: :puppysmooze:

Today wasn't one of my better days but ok. I did do some food shopping. I went for a message and it didn't go well. My head started screaming so I told her to stop. I have had this happy before so wasn't new but my body didn't get a message. I had a new person and I don't think we are working out. Now that I am all back on the pain medication I do feel much better. The problem I have is I don't feel pain until is'ts to late then I have to do catch up. Thats not good. I have to remember i had three very major surgies over three years and my healing is really slow. I am walking without any help and able to do lots of stuff so I am inpatience. Everyone do take care the driving is really ruff out there with all this weather take care. Tashia

Tashia,
Hope today is a better day for you. Sorry to hear your massage did not go very well, you will need to find someone else.
It was raining all morning, now it is cold and grey here.
Hmmm do you use the work gray or grey? So I looked it up here is a link for you to read all about gray or is it grey? https://grammarist.com/spelling/gray-grey/
I hope that does not bore you, I did learn something about the regional differences.
Take care and stay safe,

I was wondering what was going on with me and being nerves. :headbang: Well I found out why. I have a bad tooth. :tantrum: I go the dentist tomarrow. I hope my knee isn't in danger of getting infected thats all I need. I know that doesn't sound very postive but I am so tired of all this. I just want to get well and my stomach stop hurting. :beg: I do take medicane before I see the Dentist so I should be ok. So that is all for now. Wish me well and a pray would be good. Talk to you tomarrow after the Dentist. I hope the fog is gone tomarrow so we won't have to deal with it also. Take care. Tashia

Tashia, I'm just catching up with your thread and so sorry to hear you've had some blue days. Of course a toothache would make a huge difference in how you feel! I'm glad you're getting it taken care of. One thing I think will help you is to commit to that furry friend. Dogs have a wonderful way of knowing when we are feeling down and they work very hard to cheer us up. It can really make a difference for you!

Tashia,
Good luck with your dental visit tomorrow, I hope the dentist is able to take care of what ever is bothering your tooth. Fog here this morning, hope tomorrow the fog is gone where you are. Keep us posted on how your visit goes.
:bicycle2:

Thanks , I am now very concerned. The tooth is in trouble. In time I will need a root canal. The questions now is do I do it now when its not bad or wait. I am so concerned about the tooth getting infected and then the infection could it spread to the knees joints and my hip. I don't understand this all. Josephine or Jamie or anybody can you give me some knowledge on teeth and root canal. I am really concerned. Poppet Tonight I am really tired from it all. When I went to the dentist I did have a pain pill in me and I am concerned that it could of masked the pain and tooth. I so agree about the dog. I need to get my Christmas stuff up but I am so overwhelmed over all this. I wish I had someone to show me how to work it. Same with the computure. The weather is really gloomy. I don't like when no sun is shinning but just fog and bleak days. I turned on my Christmas music and something is wrong with it and I cann't fiqure it out. I know its just a button needs to be pushed but I can't fique it out. Well all this is negative and I need to throw something possitive in. I have so many friends here I don't know what I would do without them. You give me so much hope and I have to admit sharing yourselves with me means so much . Thank you. With the weather being so dangeous please be careful driving. Take care. Tashia

Tashia, hon.....it's hard to figure things out and stay on top of everything when you are hurting and worried. We need to get that behind you before you worry about any other things in your life. You say you went to the dentist today.....what was the recommendation? You may want to go ahead and get the root canal if that's what he (or she) thinks is best. Root canals used to be a huge ordeal, but new methods make it much more comfortable these days. There is a special dentist that does them and you are completely numb for the procedure. It doesn't hurt and there is only minimal pain afterward usually, since the nerve that might hurt is gone. The procedure can be expensive, though. You need to look into your insurance to see what, if anything is covered. Some doctors make allowances for patients on Medicare as well, so ask about any discounts you could get. Once the tooth has the root removed, it is packed with an antiseptic temporary filling. You wait about 6 weeks for it to calm down and then a crown is placed on your tooth. That also can be a bit expensive, so you should discuss all this with your dentist to see what is really needed.

Try not to worry about infection. While it is something to be aware of, just because you have dental problems does NOT mean you will get an infection in your implants. It's not a one-to-one cause-and-effect relationship. The possibility of problems with your hip are small and the important thing is to take care of any problems as quickly as possible, which you have done. If you find yourself worrying tonight, take something to help you sleep. Some good rest will make you feel better!! And hopefully the sun will shine for you soon. (((((HUGS)))))

Jamie, Thank you for telling me whats up. The Dentist things that the tooth is heading in that direction but isn't there yet. So that is good. I didn't understand the connection of that and the hip and knees possible getting infected. So than you so much for explaining that. I have had one years ago and it was a big deal but it also very expensive. I feel that when it has to be done I will have to deal with it. I also have TMJ and I think I have it really flared because I can't seem to get really relaxed. This Christmas if really ruff for personal reasons I don't want to share on the sight. Life can sometimes so challenging. This year is one of mine. Thank you so much it really helped. I saw a dog today and took all I had not to go and pet it. It was a dog in training for the blind so petting is not permitted at this young age. There are times I wish I could have one so I could take a dog with me no matter where I go. But I do know that I am very lucky to be able to walk and live by myself so someone who has more problems can have one. What a wonderful gift.

Today is Peal Harbor Day. A day we should not forget. I watch Tora, Tora, Tora on that day. So tonight will be movie night. Take care with winter being ruff weather. Do take care. Tashia

Tashia,
Sorry you have a painful tooth, did the Dentist check your bite to be sure the teeth were not hitting too hard? I had a toothache in the spring and it turned out the teeth were hitting each other, a little adjustment and the pain went away. When you need a root canal don't wait, the techniques are more gentle now than years ago.
There was a big standard poodle at work the other day, he is a therapy dog so you can pet him all you want. Maybe you would be able to have a service dog?
Take good care, hope it is sunny where you are, we have high clouds here.

Pumpkin, Today the tooth doesn't seem to hurt but I am keeping a eye on it. I think next week I will have a second opion and then decide on it. this is the second time I have had the denist look at it. Both times I was under lots of stress so I don't know if I am bother it. The x-ray didn't really show anything yet but it is senity to cold. We will see. In the apartment we can't have puppies which if fine for me. A puppy is a challange. but I have thought of trying to see can I get involved in a program where someone does all the puppy stuff and I get to take the dog with me all over the place. We do have a program here for kids. they read to dogs. You take the dog which has been trained to sit there and listen to the child read. Since I like being around chrildren and dogs I am really interested in that. Also they use dog to go into hospital to help people in the hospital. We shall see what God has in mind.

I sleep thru the night with out any pain pills. :dancy: I sleep so good. :spin: I seem to just need them when I am up and moving about. :tada: And at the end of the day. :yes!: Another big step. Yes. :egypdance:  :puppysmooze: :bicycle1:

Today has been a very lazy day but a very good one. My knees are a little tender, I don't know if it because I didn't take any pills last night. Tonight I went thru more sewing stuff. Patterns mostly. Got them listed in a book so I can find what I have. Did some more sorting in the house. In a very good mood, starting to feel like old self. My tooth is a little sore so I will try to get a second opion this week. Tomarrow is a day I go to a party and try to get rest of the stuff for the apartment. We had sun today. Tonight I watched Tora, tora, Tora as I do on this date every year. I have a Christmas party to go this week and weekend. Feels good to be able to go to them without being in pain. My new knee is all excited about it. Stomach is really feeling good tonight. Good day, Good day. This is how to start a weekend. Everyone do be careful with all the driver thinking about something other than driving. Take care and stay safe.

Tashia, I'm glad that you had a good day and I hope it carries into the whole weekend! :thumb: I hope your tooth starts to feel better soon, there's nothing worse than a nagging tooth ache! Enjoy the Christmas parties, you deserve to have fun for a change! :egypdance:

I love that movie Tora, Tora, Tora, but I haven't seen it in a while, enjoy!

Have a great weekend my friend! :friends:

Tonight after a good day I am a little tired. I got some Christmas decorating done. Also went to a party and saw some beautiful quilts. With the cold weather my knees are a little sore but not bad. Didn't sleep well last night so I will no dought go to bed early. Everyone do take care.

For some reason I can't keep my mood up. I still find I tire very easy. I just remember it hasn't been 7months since I had my knee done. I keep forgetting it because I am doing so good with little pain and being able to walk, do stairs and other things I haven't been able to do for years. Now for my mood. I wonder if my Cancer meds are at the right dose. I can take care of that tomarrow. Also I will make a Dentist appointment to get them cleaned and see if the took was just sore. I do need a second opion. I was looking so to go to New York for Christmas but can't, I do know I am disappointed. I need to focus on the postive. Can do. Got to sleep and sleep the whole night.

Tashia,
These short days can be dreary, it helps to get out and do something for someone else, or post encouragement here for others. You can do so much more that even a few months ago, that is great.:yay:
I like your idea for a Christmas Celebration in the social room, you can count me in, I will bring eggnog.
Maybe the Christmas smilies will be back for us to use, that would be fun.

Pumpkin went shopping and the knees didn't even hurt. Wow that great. When I get home I always need a nap. I sleep for quite a while. When I woke up it was over 4 hours but the good news they didn't hurt. Tender but thats it. I'm getting there. I going to make a appointment with the Dentist to check it out because I feel off. I have a low grade fever comes and goes. I'm also conjested. I might have a slight cold. See ya at the party. tashia

Tashia thank you keeping us to date with your progress. Glad to hear your tooth isnt as bad as it was. Maybe a second opinion would be good. Everyone is so busy at this time of the year and it does feel a bit wierd sitting on the sidelines instead of being in the middle of it. Im only 8 weeks out so I know by next xmas I will reaping the benefits of the surgery. I would so love to sleep all thru the night. I wake up at least three times a night and its getting to me now. Hope you have a lovely restful day and take care.
