TKR This time I am doing it right and having a blast

Had a wonderful surprise yesterday with starting the day with a box of fresh fruit. So nice to have lots of fruit around so I can eat it when I want. Today plan to go for a drive later today after all the people have done their shopping. I do have sewing this week so need to get a project ready for sewing so I can get it done. My stomach is growling so I don't know what it wants. Maybe it more fruit. mmmm that would be nice. I hope this finds everyone well and tummy full. I thought of all my friends yesterday. Eventhough we can't have Dinner together I payed that all of you were well. I am taking a easy today because yesterday was busy. My knee just informed I need to move so everyone take care and safe. I hope everyone gets home safe. Tashia

My knees are doing so good. It doesn't seem that long ago that they were so sore I could hardly get out of bed without terrible pain. The surgies was the best thing I have done. I did have moments of wondering did I do right by having it but now it was 100% right on. Same goes for my hip. To be able to let go of the pain and feeling so down was part of it but it is now in the past. My hill is almost taken and will be left behind and life will have me climb others. This one was a very differcult one but I will get there. Out of all of this. Walking just from my bed to the kitchen to eat is so neat. Going for a walk is like a new experience. I know I can make it. I can even travel now. WOW I am so free. I know there are some people reading this that doen't feel this good. Nor do they think this will happen. Well it does but with lots of time, work and support. Please join us. We would like to get to know you. Tashia

Tashia I am six weeks post op and the best medicine for me is reading posts like yours. It gives me encouragement and hope for the future I think almost everyone of us have thought ' did I do the right thing having this TKR' and yes we DID we just have to patient and get where you are. You are always very positive and I love reading your posts. They are amusing and thoughtful always caring about others So I would like to say WELL DONE to you for getting where you are now, enjoy the freedom you have found in walking, enjoying life and enjoying fruit. Take Care x

Last night was a blast at sewing. Did have slight trouble with knees but did have pain pills with me so all went well. Because it is at night I do get someone to take me. I don't like driving because I am under the influence of a drug. You will notice that I have said this many times about driving. When I do drive I am drug free because the law says if you take any pain you are under the influence. This is the time for DUI stops and it is my understanding that if you have a pain pill you will be put underrest. My opion No one needs this. I know this is very ruff because I went over a year without driving and it was very diffucult to say the least. But I also know no one got hurt. Having a total knee replacement is not a easy task. Its lots of work and yes there is pain but is to be controlled. As I look back on the road I have taken I am so glad I did it. I know I will have a furture of doing things I use to do like swimming, biking, and travel which I love. There are still days that are uncomfortable and I do hurt but I can manage with the pain with ice or pain pills. I can sleep the whole night without being woken with pain. I am still working on distance for walking and standing. I still have times I tire and have to rest. As I write this I see that most of my journey is over but I still need to work on some things. I wish you all the best of luck in your journey. I still plan on posting on my journey with the new knees. Everyone do take care. Tashia

Today is not a good day. Having lots of anxiety. Tried to cut done my medicane and it didn't work. so I need to get back on time. I truly wish I could get rid of them. It is trying on the nerves. Everyone do take care. Tashia

Tashia,
Sorry to hear you are having a bad day, I hope you are feeling better. Frustrating when you have to take your medication, and you think you shoud be done.
Take good care,

Pumpkin, that is so true and to top it off I made some Chile and it tastes horrible. So much for adding a new spice. The good thing is tomarrow is another day. Tashia

The news just told me to get all things inside because the wind is coming with this storm. I will have to get my wind chimes down. Tomarrow we will get rain and also Thrusday. Friday strong winds maybe power outages. Well got plenty of peanut butter and bread and water so I am set. Also got candle and lot of quilts to curl up in. Would be nice to have a dog to share this with. I am getting closer to getting one. I would like to be moved before I get one. This next year I will be looking very serious for a new place and a difference state. Arz. is on the map and so is the East. I am concerned about the weather back East. We will see. Hope this summer to be able to head to the East to check it out and also Turson. Getting the sewing room almost done. This week would be a good week as long as we have electricy. Everyone take care and stay safe. Tashia

Today is the day for the Christmas tree to go up. We are to have lots of rain today and this weekend. So this is a good weekend to do this. I do hope I have enough stuff but hay if not why not go out shopping. I haven't been this excited for Christmas in I don't know how long. No dought since 2006l.. Everyone be careful putting all this up and with the weather coming this weekend. Take care and find time for laughter. Tashia

So glad to hear that you're excited about the holidays this year. I have always just loved Christmas and the decorating---but this year I'm not going to put my pre-lit tree up---no where for it with all the equipment for Paul. But I will have candles in the windows and a wreath on the door and will put my nativity set out as always. And I think we'll be up to having our children over on Christmas day to eat with us. And I love all the carols and special TV movies this time of year.

Tashia,
We have our Christmas lights up, I love it when they are on when I get home from work. Brightens up my day!
I hope you are having more good days with the Holidays approaching.
Take good care with this big storm, we have a paradox here, there is a wild fire west of us, and to the east they are preparing for flash flooding. Crazy weather, stay safe.

:bicycle1: Tashia is running for high ground with the storm coming. I will spend most of the weekend in the apartment either sewing or finishing Christmas decorating. Pumpkin where is the fire, I haven't heard about it. I have the tree up and the lights where already on it so that was easy. Now to the decorating. I will have to go through the place to see what I have. I found out today that the SPCA has adoption for a good price until New Year so I am going to start looking for a new member of the family. I a really excited about it. It so good to be excited about life again. I am only now realizing how much all of this effected my life and my dreams. When my husband died I wanted to travel and see the world. We will see. I first must get my knees to say I am ready to drive and travel for days without sleeping so much. Also I need to get my stomach calmed down again and see what the mmm wrong with it. It really hurts today. The chile may of bothered it. Life can be so interesting at times, can't it? Well all I can say is that all the people that are in the way of these storms head for high ground. We are to get around 5 inches when its all over... That is a lot. Everyone stay dry and safe. Tashia

I email my doctor for a refill and I think he refused me. With all the rain I am holding and using less but I still need the pain medication. What should I do? I am needing less but I really am going snail pace. It has been so good I don't want to blow it. Josephine Jamie Never mind I took care of it. I guess I just needed to express my frustration with it all. I need to really think of getting a new doctor if this continues. Tashia

Tonight I feel a little off. I had a ruff day. Just a lot of rain. Need to get off my mmm and get my decorating done. When it rains like this I get nerves. I usually start cleaning out the cabinets and rearrage stuff so I don't have to listen to the news or pay attention to the rain. I cann't believe I'm crying. Well I guess that is the way it goes. Be glad when this rain is gone. Everyone take care and please stay safe.

Oh tashia, please don't be upset. I used to get freaked out like that in thunderstorms after a tree about 20 yards outside got split from top to toe by a lightening strike. I couldn't bear thunderstorms for ages after that. But floods are scary things. I'm praying for you.

Dont like to hear of youfeeling sad Tashia. Hope the worst of the thunderstorms have gone now and you are feeling more peaceful. We are also putting our tree up this weekend. Just the outdoor one. Next weekend it will be the indoor decs. I tried to go around the shops today but only lasted 20 minutes with my cane. Im only 7 weeks postop so a little early yet. The queues at the check outs and just the hustle and bustle made me very nervous. My daughter did say to me "sometimes you have to push yourself" but hey what does she know. I hope you have a lovely Sunday with your quilts and doing doing your sewing. You take care of You. x x

The wind is picking up here tonight, howling to be exact. Glad to be safely at home, all shopping done so no need to go outside tomorrow.
I hope you are feeling better and have more of your Christmas decorations out to cheer you up. This storm will pass and we will be enjoying the holidays!
Stay safe and stay home quilting.

I am feeling better. I was talking to my sister and I started crying, I realisted it a happy tears. Its been over three years and been a long haul. I'm so glad it over. The tears are form being so realivied from it all. This year I have so much to be blessed for. A surgrey that went good and living in less and less pain every day. What a blessing. I pray that the same goes for you. Take care, Hugs. Tashia

Pumpkin, The wind hasn't started yet. Its surpose to be later this evening or early morning till around 4 in the afternoon. The quiet before the storm at my place. I have food and plenty of projects as long as the electricity lasts. I don't think I will be effected but am prepared if I do. Got lots of quilts to keep me warm.:loll:

Tashia,
Hope you are warm and safe at home. Hope all your joints are staying calm.
The wind is calm now, but we have steady rainfall. Glad we live away from the river. My knee is acting up, but not as bad as it would have been a couple of months ago.
