THR Tashia's Hip is in Recovery, WOW!

Hi Everyone, Thanks for all the posts. I couldn't believe the Rattlesnake reservation either but its on the map that I look after moving in. My pain level has been just great. I still need pain pills but now it more like 8 or 10 hours. :wow2:Been very busy going thru my sewing and getting my quilts together for putting them together. I will start cutting out tonight, now that I have my cutting table up and ready for action. I going to try to sew so I can keep my mind off the waiting game. Every night now I get on the floor and tonight I will start a few exercise that I do for my back. I was told that when you hit 50, you start falling apart by a very good friend. I thought she was just kidding, now I go mmm I hope nothing else goes. I was 60 before I started having trouble.:th_heehee:Thank goodness for the advancement of medical treatment. I have found a quilt that I started for the Military and all it needs is binding and I can send it off for a Marine. I have a new camera and I am trying to learn how to use it. If it works I will put a quilt show in the social room. But don't hold your breath I still have trouble learning how to use a computer. I went to use my machine and found out that it needs to be looked at because in order to finish a block I need to use the computer on the machine in order to get it done. Its not fair. What ever happen to simple sewing and just a simple life without computer. :hate-shocked: I just remember my new car had lots of gadets I need to learn how to use. Oh well Its worth the wait and the car. The hot weather has moved in so I am spending time inside so sewing is planned. When I lived in Phoenix the whole summer was spent making suits for my husband, our daughter and me. Swimming suits are so simple to make espically for children. I also need to make a new pet bed for my new pet. Still not sure, It will either be a cat or dog. Since I live in a apartment it can't be real big even though I always wanted a German Shepard but they aren't allowed in the apartments. Lots of big breeds aren.t allowed so a dog or cat of small breed will do. However I have been thinking of getting a townhouse so I can have whatever I want. But no moving this time. It was way to hard of me. I need just to focus on my knee and recover. Well I need to get going so everyone please have a good weekend and a safe one. :doggieshmooze:Tashia:friends:

Hi Tashia
I have not been on the forum in a few days. I see that you are doing well. You are getting your new car soon. You will be so glad once it arrives.
We are having great weather here now. Supposed to be in the 70s, perfect for sitting outside. My son and family will be over my place this afternoon, so we can sit on the porch.
Have a wonderful day.
Bea

Hey Tash,

Happy mother's day. Your last post sounds so positive...good for you. So glad pain is under control and hope it stays that way until you can get your knee done. Sounds like great hobbies too...sewing and picture taking, I think I might try knitting and see if I like it.

Take care and have a wonderful day. Stay away from those rattlesnakes!

Hi Tasia, just dropping by. Sounds like you have some good projects going there. I have to remember there are projects I could be doing on my list of things to do that would be body friendly, but of course I just want to do the things I can't haha, Murphy's law I guess. Happy Monday :) -Cathy

Thanks everyone and Happy Day to you all. I hope your day was special. I am now getting ready for the operation. I am on stand-by and will get a 24 hour notice. Found out that my daughter won't be able to make surgrey or come and take care of me afterwords. I found that I was really disappointed and my mood is really rotten. Everyone take care and stay safe/ :doggieshmooze:Tashia:friends:

Maybe besides your bad news, it is in the stars today, cuz I was in a rotten mood too. Sorry about your daughter. I am sure that feels crummy. Sending you some positive vibes so you can find your balance again after that news. Take care - Cathy

Cathy, I need all I can get. I thought if my pain got under control things would get better. I really need to just take a one night or two day trip but unless something surprises, it won't happen. I have never been a home person, so this is very hard on me. Because Of being on call getting a pet is out. However a fish tank would be something. However I would have to have someone to take care of the fish and I really don't see that happen either. I do know I sound very negative but that is where I am right now. The good thing the day is almost gone and tomarrow is another day. I spent some time working on sewing last night and hit a snag and it got me very :rolleyespink: I don't have the right color of farbic to start sewing the quilt. I need to find something I can do in the hospital and nursing home while I am there and I am having problem with coming up with a project. I have been reading so much I need a break so a sewing project would be so neat. Now that this is off my chest I feel better. Thank you for listing. Everyone take care and stay safe. :doggieshmooze:Tashia:friends:

Hi Tashia

I am very old now - 62 - but I learnt a long time ago that life is for too many people, often just one long road of Ups and Downs. After what you have been through the past few years you could have been my poster girl for this theory. (I would take on the role myself, but I'm really not fun enough to be anybody's poster girl.)

Now you have some progress towards your surgery date. That is good news. You will not have the help you thought you might have at home. That is bad news. But somehow or other you will find a way through this maze.

Tashia. I am not trying to be silly or clever. I read this forum from time to time and find that so many posts just say: "I'm sorry about such-and-such. I hope it will be better soon."

Fact is, there is little else anyone can say. We are all hoping that "it will be better soon".

You have had a very rough few years. You have shown yourself to be a strong woman.

You will make it over this next hurdle.

(Though perhaps the concept of a hurdle - as in gymnastics - is not the best analogy here!)

All the best to you.

Glynis

Hi Tasia. You are where you are emotionally. It can be, and is, a roller coaster sometimes. As everyone says, at least here people understand. I just said to someone yesterday " I am sorry I sound so negative" and, of course, being my friend, they said they want real, not fake, so if that is where I am, that's where I am. That being said, none of us want to have down days, down times, but pain, discomfort, the inability to do what we want, when we want, can really wear on you. As Glynis above my post says, you have been through a hell of a lot and you ARE a strong woman? Even in my short time on the forum I have seen you get down, and pull yourself up, find positives etc., and you are still not done - you are waiting for another surgery. it is a lot to deal with my dear ALOT!

Hang in there Tasia, I'll try to check in a bit more often to make sure you know I'm still sending my positive vibes :). ...and please send some my way as I am waiting for the tow truck to pick up my car :( , but on the positive side, I won't have wheels today so I won't run around and overdo it today :)
-Cathy

Cathy, I hope my van didn't talk to your car. :th_heehee: I gave up on mine. Its waiting to be donated.. I will no dought do it soon so its out of the way. My surgeon has ordered lots of test so when I get the date I will be ready to go. I hate waiting and not knowing the date. Its hard to plan what needs to be done. The weather is warm and I think summer is hear. Haven't seen any snakes so the birds must be doing what they need to do. Well the pills are working so I need to lay down and try to get some sleep. Everyone take care. :doggieshmooze:Tashia:friends:

Hi Tash,

Hey, if you are getting some of your pre-testing done you are definitely moving in the right direction. I try and take one day at a time, right after my surgeries it was sometimes a minute at a time. Really, what else can we do. Hoping you get a date soon.

Would love to see pics of your quilts should you be able to figure out how to post them. I'm lucky I can figure out my cell phone...Take care, hon.

diane, It took me so long to learn how to move around the computer. I still don'e know how to tag someone. As far as the phone, It took over three years before I finque out how to take a picture. I have a sewing machine that uses a computer and I now have the pc so I am trying to learn that too. I have all the time to learn them I just need the patience. Hope to have the pictures of some of my quilts soon. :doggieshmooze:Tashia:friends:
