TKR Steri strip tape still on going on 4 weeks post op

Well I am at 11 weeks now. I am feeling like I should be further along than I am

My Flexion is about 110. I am still not able to walk much. I would like to go outside for at least 1/2 mile walk but if I do I am in a lot of pain.

Doing PT 2 times a week

You're doing well. Your flexion is good.

It does take a long time to recover from this surgery, so let your knee take the time it needs.

When you go for a walk, increase the time and distance slowly. Half a mile is too far right now, so start with shorter distances. Gradually, as your leg regains strength, you'll be able to walk further.

It's all too easy to expect more of your knee than it is ready to give you.
Where are you in recovery?? (TKR)

I agree with Celle and that's what I did. Just start with a short walk. I'd go a bit less than I thought I might be able to--if that went well I'd add a little bit of distance the next time. I was able to walk outside and didn't go by miles, but at first by how many houses down the street or to a landmark. This also has the advantage of periodic "victories" as you add distance.

Thanks for responses Well its been 3 months after knee replacement and I walked outside almost a mile last week [emoji3]

But I have a question. I am having horrible stomach cramping every day all day long with diareaha. I can only digest bland foods
Like baked potato and yogurt and eggs

My primary care doctor and gastro doctor suspects I have colitis
She said it was probably caused by the anti inflammatories i have been taking for 3 months

I was taking celebrox for 3 months.
Previous to that I was taking 800mg of ibuprofen for knee swelling for about 3 months

I have a colonoscopy coming up next week

Anyone experience this ?

I feel like this thread is buried and I wont get many responses. Is it Ok if I start a new thread ?
