THR Spring is right around the corner

@Walkinginthesand the party was AMAZING thank you for asking!!!
and boy am I paying for it. Lol
I need to make a post. OY!!!! The kids had so much fun. And the rest of the family did too!!!

Travelling sounds like "just what the dr ordered"!!!!I have seen very little of that part of the country. I have visited Colorado Springs once. I LOVED it there. They have the cutest little zoo built right on the side of a mountain. Pikes Peak?
I'm putting that on my kids' bucket lists... lol
and a family trip when I was a teenager to Southern California. We even took a day trip to Tijuana lolol

@Walkinginthesand I replied to your previous post, without reading the one you just made. I'm so sorry you're having a rough day. I cried last night, too. It's all sooo much! You're allowed to cry. We wait so long and tolerate the pain, we have the surgery and we tolerate the pain, we go through our 1st days and weeks of recovery and we tolerate the pain, sometimes it's just too much to tolerate anymore....

A good cry is sometimes what we need @Walkinginthesand. I had increase in pain today. From previous experience and what people say on here, it is normal. I realized I was pushing it on cane too much. Resting more today, icing, and cut back on cane and feeling better. Also dozing off in chair off and on since sleep wasn’t good last night.

Try rest and ice. You are still early on even though a month seems like forever. If you are really concerned about pain, maybe describe where it is ramped up-one of the advisors or moderators may have some insight-while they are not medical professionals (except for Josephine) they are very good at recognizing common items.

So sorry you’ve had a bad day. I hope the rain passes over and you’re left with blue sky above you and within. I also hope you can get you pain under control. Take care of you

@Walkinginthesand

Sorry rough going. I had a river of tears myself today. @Mascaramom is right, sometimes we just can’t anymore. This is all part of the healing process. It’s not just physical pain you were/are in, it’s emotional too. Crying helps me get those emotions sorted. Hope you find it helpful too.

I took a tramafol and then later some Tylenol. Did ice and slept...is better. Pain is deep ache beside incision. I think it is just from moving, walking too much, maybe not abiding by weight restriction. I could not get comfortable last night so I know I must have slept on it funny. I think you are right @newhip126 - a lot of emotion involved in this healing. Add pain to that and it’s really hard.

@Mascaramom that is EXACTLY how I felt this morning. I had had enough!!!! We had plans to take a short outing and I knew I shouldn’t even do that. I knew what I needed to do was grab the ice and head back to bed. But I was just grumpy about it. I am better this afternoon.

@Walkinginthesand KC? Ouch. I live outside a farming community about 20mi from the closest city. I imagine MO drivers are about the same as Okies:yikes: I can say that because I'm not from here. Most people around here would never make it in a big city.

If I lived in a larger city I would definitely not drive. I lived in town when I had the LTHR. It was snowy and icy that year. I literally didn't drive anywhere for 4-weeks.
After RTHR, it was summer and the country roads were calling. I can go to the store and it's only 2 miles and three stop signs. And lots of cows. Fortunately they were behind fences.
I have a good friend who lives in St Joseph, he says this winter has been cold and snowy there.

@dougie0216 - careful with those comments about Missouri drivers! I'm from KC and now in STL

Now be careful what you say! I am a born and bred okie and so is my husband! Tulsa is where we are from. We graduated from northeastern in tahlequah!! But yes, any highway/freeway drivers are crazy and have no patience. I will just let my husband drive. I am only 25% weight bearing so can’t figure out how you maneuver walker to trunk and then hop to drivers seat??!!!?? We taught for 15 years in Kansas and I miss cows and wheat. Even miss the SLOW trucks heading to the silo. Kansas City is where our girls and family are so here we are! Enjoy the cows! We do like the hub-bub now. :egypdance:

Hope you have a better day. This will all be worth it...
Sending good Mojo your way:egypdance:

I have tried to tough it out with pain but I need help. Pain is a deep ache, more from use, but uncomfortable. I keep telling myself to just tough it out and ice it. Ice helps but I think I need some meds. It is not bad enough for Tylenol plus codeine plus I don’t want dopey feeling. Do I do just Tylenol or a Tramadol? At first, after surgery I was doing codeine and Tramadol

Suggestions? My dad was an alcoholic
So I am very conscious of addition. But don’t think this cold turkey thing is good either.

I will tag them. I think I’ve made sort of a mistake trying to tough it out. I took Tylenol just a bit ago so I will see how it goes. I may take Tramadol if pain doesn’t stay gone. Meds are always a question. Want to be off them but not too soon. I was fine as I was very quiet but maybe not now that I am up and doing more. :chinstroke:
