Thanks, Dede. I know it is reassuring to me to know that Cookie has the same thing, and so did another patient I know who also had the anterior approach, and I'm told it goes away with time.

I'm going to try not to dwell on it; it really isn't that big a deal. Last night I went to dinner at a favorite restaurant and then to an Orlando Philharmonic concert with a friend, and although I had some ibuprofen along in case I was miserable, I hardly thought of it. My friend was surprised at how well I bopped up the stairs at the theater.

After sitting at the concert, no problem---maybe because I had to stand and wait for everyone to start leaving the row, and then we were all moving slowly. Hmmm. I tend to hop up and move quickly. Maybe slowing down a little is the thing.....

Anyhow, the concert was part of the chamber series we have season tickets for, and it was called "Bach's Coffee House." My favorite selections were the Coffee Cantata---who knew Bach had a sense of humor?---and the Brandenburg Concerto No.5 in D Major.

I am behind you in recovery, but having a similar issue. I had just chalked it up to swelling, but maybe not? So, I look forward to any answers you find.

Sissy when you bob up the stairs is that fonrt ways of sideways? :spin: Maybe try slower stand up and pause a moment before going, it couldn't hurt and it could help. Hope you had fun today, for once the weather here today was unseasonably mild, 50s and sunny, so I was very happy.

bellaroma I haven't been going sideways lately:wink: Going up and down stairs doesn't bother me at all. My day wasn't as I had planned, because I would have been packing and loading boat and bike for a few days in Ocala National Forest where friends and I had rented a cabin. An abysmal weather forecast changed our plans, so I've been lying around with my cats and reading Marge Piercy's memoir aptly entitled Sleeping With Cats. A dark, gray day and I was really hoping it would rain a lot, to bring the water level up in the Econlockhatchee River, where our new plan is to paddle on Thursday. As my friend pointed out, the water is so low there will be plenty of places for me to get out and stretch on the 12 miles. I just hope I won't be dragging my boat across a gator's tail:yikes: because so far we've had not a drop of rain.

nerdgrrl Hmm, another anterior with similar issue. Maybe the anterior approach disturbs something that takes a while to settle down? Seriously, this is nothing that I can't live with, I can't even call it pain and I believe I've just been thinking about it too much.

Sissy I'm not so sure it's an anterior issue or not. My first few steps are the same way when I forego the cane. Granted I'm abot 7 weeks behind you. I know I still have to catch up but that's just time. I'm guessing a natural phenomenon...JMHO.
:what:

Sissy, I'm not sure that you should ignore it. Just be mindful of it so if it continues you know exactly what to describe to your doctor. We can't have the Warrior from MouseLand down and out! I would suggest listening to Josephine's advice to you about some cool down activities. I bet you get a bit of relief. It stands to reason that these muscles are protesting whenever you engage them...such as when you get up and take the first couple of steps.

Sissy, don't ignore, just don't overthink and definetly mention to the doctor. Hope you have a good day today, and I can not decide which one is worse, gator scraping kayak or stepping on gator:shocked:

Beth, not sure either of those options are ideal. I'm thinking at least a 50 foot pole distance is the minimum and even longer with a telephoto lens!

I'll see if I can stir up some gators on the Econ tomorrow and get some pictures. They're pretty dormant this time of year, but if there's sunshine they'll get it in and not want to move.

I did something something stupid last night---took two Percocet after not having any for weeks. One might have been okay, but I have felt hungover, headachy, nauseated all day, just beginning to feel a little better now, 16 hours later. It did take away the ache, though  and I slept like a rock.

Careful, there warrior! Glad it's working itself out. Hopefully today is a rest day on your activity calendar!!

Oh yeah, I reverted back to sofa and watched two episodes of "Copper" and I've been reading Lin Pardey's memoir, Bull Canyon. About 30 years ago, I read her book, Cruising in Serrafyn, about the circumnavigation she and her husband Larry did in a 22 ft wooden sailboat they built---no motor. A remarkable couple with many interesting tales.

bellaroma They didn't affect me that way when I took them after I came home from the hospital, but I had been getting morphine there. I'm never taking that stuff again if I can help it. I should have take ibuprofen, but it was late and hours after I had eaten, and I didn't want to take it on an empty stomach. I know, probably shouldn't have taken the percocet on an empty stomach either, but I'm sure I did that before with no problem.

Shhhh, shouldn't jinx myself here, but the soreness and tightness on starting to walk still seems to be gone:yes:

Ah, thanks, but she posed herself---lots of luck trying to get her to do anything on demand. I keep my camera on the coffee table for candid shots of my kitties.

Cool and breezy this morning, but I'm going paddling, 12 miles on the Econ, woo-hoo:spin:

I hope everyone has a wonderful day:SUNsmile:
