Re: Recovering in leaps and bounds
Hello Rick, wow that is one big dog sitting on top of you in your avatar picture! You must be a strong man. Sounds like you are doing amazingly well. I echo what everyone else is saying - just listen to your body. I thought I was making a really good recovery, but putting on socks by Day 9 - no way! Still can hardly do that without the sock aid, and it's been 9 weeks. Just goes to show we are all different. I agree with Z - if your OS has given you the green light, try things, but just very little and very gently, and see how you go. The stationary bike is very good for loosening you up - I don't have one at home but having been using the recumbent bike at the gym - supposed to be better for new hippies than the sit-up kind. Each time I get on it, the first couple of revolutions are tough, then it gets easier and easier and I can increase the difficulty level to what I was doing before the surgery.
But don't forget to rest. You may be feeling great but your body has been through a major trauma. There's no reason why you should 'crash and burn' as long as you take care, rest a bit more than you think you need, and don't overdo the exercises.
Please give your lovely doggie a pat from me!

Oh well, hopefully New England will bring it next year... but I digress.
