Hinged Joint Revision Complete, recovery continues

@Pumpkln I am so happy you feel you have turned a corner. I wish I could find that corner! That is a cool story about forgetting your crutch. All this talk of Coldstone ice cream is killing me. :) (That stuff is so good....haven't been to one in forever)

@lovetocookandsew , SLT is not the place to ride, to many cars. I used to like around Camp Richardson, and the trail from Fanny Bridge to Alpine Meadows is great. And do not forget the Flume Trail, did it 1x.

Here is a photo of Vikingsholm from Emerald Bay, a friend took it last summer. Who knows we may be able to walk down in 2015 with some getting into shape first. @lovetocookandsew

Hi @Pumpkln I didn't get an alert off your post. My names not appearing quite right in it! No worries! Anyway, how pleased I am to read that you are improving. That's wonderful news. You are certainly sounding more relaxed. You seem to be doing really well and that us great news. I hope to catch up with you later my friend xxx

I've been having a few issues with my thread but I hope it's settled down now! Xxx aaaarghhhh!!!

Thank you for the icecream info.
We have an icecream farm near us and every year they do a massive sculpture out of hay bales. I don't know whether this link will work here:
https://www.snugburys.co.uk/content/sculptures
They do their own lovely icecream. I'm gluten free now so not sure what I could eat, I guess I should go and find out :loll:
We have our Lake District here in the UK, it is lovely, can be quite busy in places in season but a lot of it is more remote.
I'm just like a child in a candy shop now I can go out again after so long confined to the house with knee then chemo.

Wow! What a cool place. I'll bet the ice cream's great also! If love to EXTERMINATE a cone!

For some reason today, I am having rolling spasms where the TFL goes over the implant :gaah:. Used ice massage, and now icing and elevating. Will do some gentle stretching later, and am back on crutches, for now.
Ups and downs are to be expected, maybe I am just supposed to spend the day in bed today.:elevate:

Did a little TFL stretch, oh yes that is what is upset today. Got on the roller, it was OK with that, now back with ice and elevation.

What is the roller you are referring to @Pumpkln? And what is a TFL? I just had a slice of ice cream cake. My oldest son turned 19 on May 29th but we have not bee able to coordinate the whole family to enjoy a cake so we picked it up on the way home from physio and ate some before dinner :)

71Beetle,
Tensor fasciae latae is a muscle attached to the iliotibial band, and what I have is Iliotibial band syndrome. Here is an article in the library. The White roller shown is very hard, I use the soft pink roller much more comfortable, and effective for me.

This is a link to the roller I use.

Perfect eat dessert first, life is short!

@Pumpkln, Thanks Chris. I have been experiencing pain along the IT band. Was always an issue in my running days. I have a roller called TriggerPoint that I used to use the way they do in the video but I can't get down like they do in the video right now. I will try the massage that Josephine posted.

Hi @Pumpkln just been read through the posts on here. I so love that pic of Vikingsholm. It's amazing x x. I'm sorry you're having a bit if an off day today but at least you're managing and doing the exact right thing xxxx sending you a big hug from across the pond x x.

@Dabber that's great news that you can go out now. The Lake District is amazing. We've stated a few times in Patterdale. I love Ambleside, Ullswater and all. Truly paradise x.

Love Nana moon 27 xxxx
