Hinged Joint Revision Complete, recovery continues

junk food diet
Actually I am finding my self liking a paleo type diet, protein, fruits, nuts, and vegitables. But I do have all the other stuff too, had trail mix on the way home from the OS, but caught myself favoring the M&M's.

Hi @Pumpkln

I'm ever so glad that you got on so well today. I particularly like the fact that by have been listened to and taken seriously. It's even better that it sounds like action will be taken to rectify this wrong practice.

I also like the sound of the good hospital thread, so if this ever happens can we have a UK version too please?

I know you are very tired for yesterday's busy day, so try and take it easy for what is left of it now. I'll catch up with you tomorrow. I'll check in to this post in the morning (over the pond time though! and leave you a message!xxx

Glad yesterday's visit went OK. Today is a day for the 3 Rs resting, relaxing, recovering and taking care of yourself.

Oh Pumpkin, I am so sorry about the constipation. However I do hope its helping with the pain. I hope that the trip wasn't too hard on you. I know sitting for that length of time is ruff and also being tired because of having to do a appointment also. The swelling in your knee I hope is better also. Please take care my friend. Tashia Oh the kids wants to say hi to and your little one. Hee, Hee, Winter wants to make sure that you both get plenty of rest so he sends all the :sleeep::sleeep::sleeep::sleeep::sleeep::sleeep::sleeep: he can. Take care.

I have been playing catch up with the pain since yesterday, I asked to be switched to hydrocodone (15mg) to reduce the constipation. Big mistake, it is not strong enough for my knee pain. So now my knee has more swelling, redness, and pain. Still have about 5 days worth of oxycocone (5 mg), and have resumed taking them. Will call the OS in the morning to let him know this. I have Tramadol (50mg) for break through pain. Frustrating. In bed with the Breg ice machine (not the machine, the pads :heehee:), on my knee, and elevated.

Hope your pain gets better! ((((Hugs))))

@tashia,
Things are moving along so to speak. The sitting on Wednesday was way too much for me and my knee. Elevating, icing and taking meds on schedule. And resting of course.

I sat in the front, because last time I was in the back the door opened unexpectedly, scary. Going to figure out how to keep that from happening so I can ride in the back. There is a childs lock out switch, but my husbands knee hits it, and turns it on and off randomly.

Good advice not to sit for long periods of time. I was playing a game and forgot to get up and I paid for it when I finally did!

Sounds like oxy and a prune cocktail or something will be your plan for a while...
take care of yourself, pumpkin.

Chris, sorry to hear about your pain and swelling. It's a delicate balance between controlling the pain and keeping the pipes moving. I hope this all resolves soon!

Keep us posted! Dawn

My leg is still settling down from all the sitting on Wednesday . I have a TENS unit on, lowest setting as I am very sensetive today.

We call the mixture I use prune pudding, consists of prune juice, apple sauce, and wheat germ. No worries about anyone else helping themselves.
Day was OK, lots or resting, icing, elevating, and medicating. Used some Voltaren Jel on the front of my knee, avoiding the scar, seems to help.
