Revision TKR Revision again

Glad you have heard from the specialist and have some answers.
Sorry that you have to go through all of these procedures. In the end it will be worth it.

That's wonderful news! You are definitely headed in the right direction and there is a huge improvement in sight for you!

It seems like they're moving quickly and that's great news!

I edited your post as you had recision and I would imagine you meant revision?

You will find that it is pretty much a redo of the original surgery (redo=revision!)
If you look in here, you will get a big list of all the members who have had revisions, so you can read their threads and see what they had to say about it! Much better than me banging on!

well @Josephine i went to first part of the wbc scan dr sent me for. he called today and said he stopped by nuclear medicine to get a update. said white cells gathered in knee during scan. last part is tomorrow. he wanted to rule out infection before revision. not looking good :(

I have everything crossed for you, pet! And prayers .....

just got scan results :( have an emergency appointment at 3:30. findings: there is a considerably increased disruption of radionuclide is identified at the right knee, involving the distal femur as well as the proximal tibia. increased uptake is also identified in the shaft of the mid femur. impression: evidence of infection/inflammation of the right knee associated with prosthesis. @Josephine

Labs came back today wbc: 12.8 , esr 24, absolute neutrophils 7.35, absolute lymphocytes: 4.46, c reactive 1.2, lactic acid 2.13.

While scan screams infection bloodwork doesn't . But, all bloodwork is higher than it was 2 days ago. Surgeon is gonna run more test to see if im rejecting the surgery. He did aspirate knee it was negative .

Pat, I'm really glad you are now in the hands of a Revision Specialist for younger people and will be at Mayo Clinic. Wishing you the best!

oh no! what is the next step for you? i noticed the report said "evidence of infection and inflammation associated with the prosthesis". does this mean it will have to be removed? in another post you said surgeon is going to run another test to see if you are "rejecting the surgery". i hope someone can help you and guide you in the right direction to resolve this.:fingersx:

Oh no Pat, any idea what comes next? Surely someone must have an answer for you!

you might want to tag Josephine with your recent medical information. I'm sorry you're having to go through this at your young age but I can tell you're one smart and tough girl and you'll get through this.
