THR Recovery from RTHR October 4

My last post talked so much about the seemingly nutty exercises my OS wants me to do that I forgot to include a very good development -- a 20-minute walk using only one crutch! I had used two crutches for all my walks before that, and had only used one crutch for short distances around the house, so this is (literally) a big step. No pain during or afterwards, though very tired.
Celebrated by making a big sheet-pan pizza with yesterday's dough.
Hooray!

Hooray for you, SRB! I'll bet soon enough you'll be reporting you've set the last crutch aside.
Hope you enjoyed your pizza. Happy Wednesday to you!

@SRB Well done! That’s further than I’ve ventured out at one time although I feel like I’m getting in plenty of walking. If our weather holds, my plan is a shorter version of my beach walk near the harbor this weekend. I don’t notice my foot turning but I am concentrating on the heel to toe steps. That seems to help my gait tremendously and it slows me down to do it correctly.

And I’ll have two slices of that pizza to go, please.

Happy One Month Anniversary!
Hope you're doing well these days.
Enjoy the weekend!

I used Microdacyn, the same spray my surgeon uses on incisions. No sting, no touch. Locally I can buy at Walmart.

Microdacyn products contain hypochlorous solution. BoneSmart recommends a product with the same ingredients called ACTIVE Antimicrobial Hydrogel. This product kills bacteria, viruses, and fungus on contact (antimicrobial). It is safe to use on your incision immediately after surgery and can even be applied near the mouth and eyes. When COVID was raging, we advised our members to use it to keep face and hands virus free. It also promotes healing.

You can purchase it through our BoneSmart link and a portion of the sale price goes to BoneSmart to help us maintain the forum and website for everyone.
