@clodaghcov, was reading your postings and saw you'd fallen off your horse and dislocated hip. I gives me hope that I'll be eventually able to ride again...haven't been since Spring since the pain in my hip was so bad at that point...couldn't post and even sitting trot was torture, ended up chair bound for two days afterward. Not sure how much was related to the infection they eventually found or just the arthritis that was already bone on bone. Hoping things are taking an upturn for you!! You've been through hell and back

@Whoknew Glad all is going smoothly for you. Riding and horses was my life, and it was a silly tumble while riding barebac, but i landed hard on hip and it started to dislocate so i knocked it on stable wall and it popped back in beautifully, this went on for quite along time! then one day it wouldnt go back. When they xrayed me they found i had been born with very shallow sockets but never had any trouble even 3 babies born. About 7 years ago when i knew i had to have a revision i rode on the beach in Crete and it was wonderful, but i wont be able to now, i just couldnt risk it. Where there is a will theres a way for you and i certainly would do some research when your hip and you are discharged, I am so happy for you and keeping everything crossed, speak soon. Hugsxxx

Thanks! I’m at 5 weeks post revision and at that point of “ I’m not doing as well as others, why am I still having pain, etc”. Gets darned depressing some days. I’ve set goals for myself next spring that hopefully include both riding and being able to walk the Walkway over the Hudson” where they fixed an old railway bridge that had burned into an elevated walk over the Hudson River.

My poor body has been through so much trauma in the past six years! Between being hit by a car while crossing the street, hit head on by a drunk driver and now this I’ve had more broken bones than ever had ski racing, fox hunting, showing horses etc. uggg. I don’t bounce back as quickly!

Hi, my pic line is out! I am off antibiotics!,I wonder what will happen, my CRP is 5 only time will tell. I have more bloods in 2 weeks to see if things are settling----now Im going to get on with things and forget nasty things just for a little while. Unfortunately my husband has got spinal stenosis and the cortisone injections he has had have not made a huge improvement to his pain level,so now Im the nurse to help him now, poor soul.Hugsxxx

Good news, I had my first bloods since stopping my iv and oral antibs and my my CRP is 4 and ESR 6 everyone is jumping around in the bone infection department! Early days but I am well, really well, Mike and I had a long weekend away i drove there and back this has helped my foot imensley giving it a real work job on the accelerator, we had 2 dogs with us on the beach, and with my sand flaps on my crutches it was fantastic, great doggy hotel really enjoyed it. I am the nurse at the moment while Mike is suffering with his back, another MRI for him tomorrow, but we are coping really well, onward and upward. Hugsxxx
