Patricia you just run your curser over your name on the upper right. Then you'll see a list and you pick CONTACT DETAILs and you have the various choices available. There's alot of fun stuff up there!

I am finding after 3 to 4 pm in the afternoon is the hardest time for me to do much of anything besides lying down. I do get an early start in the day, so I guess my knee is just tired. It's quite disappointing, feels like I'm going backwards. Morning comes again and the positive returns, how long will this cycle keep going like this, it's 5 weeks today :headbang:

Hi again Brig, well you are two weeks ahead of me but after going thru such a major op of course you are going to feel tired. Im sure most people on here would agree the first six weeks are a challenge to say the least. I agree about that time in the aftn. I always wilt then but did before the op so no change there. Yesterday I felt sorry for my daughter trying to do everything in the home, so i came down and made the family dinner going from worktop to stove on one crutch. I felt fine at the time but today WOW. Nothing but resting elevating and icing. Its something we cant rush. Must let our knee heal. we woemen are too impaient arent we. Take care.

brownie thank you so much for the email info. Already done :). Also Brig. wow two blood transfusions and & seven days in hospital. What happened.

Oh my you are courageous! I have been doing some prep work for dinner, most of which I can sit for finding that standing for too long is not such a good thing right now, although I am finding those times are getting longer. I feel pretty guilty at times, my partner works full time and then comes home to his now second job but he never complains, we are both very lucky! Yes women are very impatient cause we are so self sufficient and tend to forget we are not 'superwoman'...although that would be nice, haha. Things are progressing though and I am lucky to have an understanding PT. I attend Physio at 7 am, I find that is when I am at my prime early in the morning and am able to have a rewarding session and this enables me to do a lighter version before lunch. It seems like you are doing quite well and it is great to be able to exchange advice and happy thoughts...till next time!!!

I cant beleive not long ago i couldnt take my dressing off and look at the scar and now here i am taking photos and showing it off. O My how we change. it will be much better when the staple marks arent there. :)

Yes, it makes it a little more comfortable for bending as well, you'll love having that free feeling back :)

Patricia thanks for posting your pic! I have that fat scabby area on the bottom of mine too. I will be so glad when I'm to the point I can put the Vit E oil on it. It feels so tight.

Yeah me too Marianne. Just want to moisuturise it with oil and make it feel smoother and less tight. Not long now. Are you still wearing TEDS. I take mine off now at night but still have them on during the day untill the 6 week mark.:gaah:

Lol! I remember that! Very good!!

:eeeuw: Yeah Janet I was a right stress head over that wasnt I. Making my daughter put another dressing on it when she took the waterproof one off. I was lifting it up and peeking underneath. Soon got used to it tho. Just a case of having to really :)

The scar looks good, brave one! Do remember to take it easy. I'm several months out and am just starting not to want that afternoon nap. Cut yourself some slack. :)

Patricia I just couldn't stand the TEDs anymore. They only gave me one leg with the right size. They get all twisted up and were probably increasing my chance of clots! I was getting around in the house well after a few days and I saw on BoneSmart where someone threw hers out too, so I did too! So I wore them less than a week. My PT guy told me to put one on my leg when it was swollen but it just itched too much. I probably should have kept wearing them though.

Yes I will. We are all tempted to do too much but soon see the consequence of this. Hope you are progressing well. Take care x

I was just thinking...... are we buying our new knee(s) a christmas gift. My idea for my knee..... a rowing machine maybe so it will bend much better. I will take help wherever i can. :dancy:

The new knee(s) definitely deserve a Christmas present. In my case, continued weight loss and lots of time in the whirlpool. :)
