Only 5 days to go and I have uvulitis

Positive thoughts coming your way ! My cold/allergies seemed to miraculously clear up the day before surgery. I hope everything goes as planned and you are a double hippie tomorrow. My mind finally caught up to my surgery, and I woke up in the night thinking - I did it, it's all over. It is like it took a couple days to settle in mentally. Such a great feeling. I wish you all the best tomorrow. It is such a great feeling to know both surgeries are over and I have so much less stress worrying having been through it before.

Thank you @Doodles51 I can imagine how good you are feeling knowing that you now have two good hips.

It was very strange, @Kim22. I didn't feel sick at all but my chest felt weird. Luckily, I had my internal medicine appt and the doc said my bronchials and chest were fine and saidy symptoms sounded GERD related.

@DeepBreath Do you take regular Omeprazole or another medicine with the same effect.I have been taking it for almost 5 years without any symptoms.It only goes to show what stress can do to the body.

@Hoppy Nanny thank you for the suggestion to top up with Gaviscon.It seems to have helped.I can't believe that I am actually going ahead tomorrow.Well my bag is packed and I have just tucked into a lovely roast beef dinner to help build up my red blood cells and drank what seems like gallons of water as instructed.I am first on the list ( at the moment) so need to be there by 7am.I will need to be up at 5 for shower and hair wash It is a 45 minute journey to the hospital so an early night is on the cards. I will watch the next episode of Downton Abbey before I go to bed.Thanks once again will post when I can

Hi, Kim! (I could not find your Official Recovery Thread, so I'm posting here.) It sounds like that sore throat failed in its evil attempt to derail your THR, and I so glad about that. I am on pins and needles for you and will be thinking of you tomorrow. Hope you get some good sleep tonight. I can't wait for you to have your new hip and be on an uneventful road to recovery!
