Revised PKR to TKR On the other side - AGAIN!

Great report. Walking 7000 steps a day is really good at your stage. Glad the massage helped your back.

I’ve got a bit fed up with the recurring late onset waking recently. So last night I took 2 x magnesium glycinate, the recommended dose.
It’s left me wiped out today, a kind of sleep debt hangover.. weird but true…
Next time I’ll just try one capsule.
Off for another nap!

Send some of that cold over here. It's still in the 90s here in Va. I am so sick of it.

What great news that you can wear long pants now. That is an improvement for sure!

I so agree, send some of that cooler air this way. Don't long pants feel 'odd' now? I know to me they did. Just a very different sensation on the knee / leg.

Keep up the good work.

Me three, send some please, the heat / humidity is getting to me. :groan:
Yay for pants and a change in the weather. Just think of the progress this next season will bring. :thumb:
Happy weekend, LE!

3 months today and not where I expected or wanted to be - acute tendonitis.
Diagnosed by physio’s Ultra sound.
Treated with infra red, with more next week.
More ice and elevation etc, which I’ve been doing anyway and back on Celebrex.
Grrrrrr….
Onwards, nothing else to be done.
More time for textiles and box sets….

So sorry to hear this. Any idea of anything that might have aggravated things? Take care.

Possibly a change in external environments last week out of my control. I was away for 48 hrs. I loved it and was very, very careful but clearly the knee didn’t agree! This started Friday.
The infra-red has definitely helped today and it is what it is.
Instead of walking for my once a week school run I will take the car for a week or two. It may not be environmentally friendly, but it’s knee friendly.
I will not be downhearted or demoralised, I’ll just make some adjustments. I cancelled something today that I’d booked for October, that’s ok as they moved my deposit to next year. I thought I’d lose the deposit and had mentally accepted that so this was very kind. I’ve plenty to do here in between elevating the knee and so long as I keep getting out and about a bit to keep sane and mobile it’ll be fine.
The good news is that pottering in the kitchen is comfortable and doesn’t aggravate the tendons, so cooking and baking is great occupational therapy for me and we all benefit.

I’m sorry you had an ODIC episode. Thst happens easily at 3 months, and even later. My worst one was at 4 months, when I thought I was way past that. It was a weekend away and I tried too hard to keep up with everyone.

A belated Happy Three Month Anniversary...I wish this diagnosis of acute tendonitis wasn't a reality for you.
I'm so sorry, LE.

Your positive attitude is always refreshing. You don't lose sight of the progress you've made and have the ability to remain grateful for where you are today.
Onwards, nothing else to be done.

Your optimism is genuinely inspiring. I wish you speedy relief. :console2:

Week 13.
Leftie seems to be settling again and I’m grateful for that. Obviously the Celecoxib is helping, but it’s only for one week. Still being careful and getting sufficient steps from busy ADL’s and not actual walks. Might try a short walk today. Busy couple of days with once a year garden help coming today to reach the parts I can’t and decorator painting shed and exterior doors tomorrow. Jobs I used to do but not this year. I’ve been cooking a bit for the family too and experimenting with sourdough for me, plus I’m using up wool ends for squares. The finished blankets eventually go to a local hospital and a local business collects them. All good OT, can’t beat the purpose of occupation.
Onwards…
Edited to say busy in the fact that I have to be here and people are coming. I do t have to do anything.

Great report but take it steady.

Don't be tempted to overdo things preparing for these jobs. When you have always been an organised coping sort- it is very hard to let go.

Hopefully the garden and freshly painted shed and doors are an uplifting sight in the midst of your tendonitis.
Very generous of you to donate your time and resources to make blankets for the local hospital. Good luck with the sourdough, LE. Hope you love it!

Week 14.
Seen the physio today. Patella tendonitis slowly improving, more laser treatment today, shockwave therapy on the Achilles tendon, and some other work done on the back. All likely to be from my altered gait, which probably hasn’t been right since February last year.
Physio is pleased and says knee extension is only 1’ off and can be achieved passively.
I’m using a walking aid much less, often carry it only to use on the poor pavements. When it’s a good smooth surface I don’t need it.
Still some lingering pain and discomfort, not enough for pills, I just know it’s there and will be so glad when it’s gone. I’m looking forward to that moment and know it’s just a time thing and it will likely become intermittent before it settles.
Currently 4-5k steps a day.
Onwards…
