New hip feb 6

Awww, look at you spreading cheer!
Back at ya, sweetie :loveshwr: Hope your weekend is peaceful and relaxing!
@hipster333

Thanks @hipster333. To be honest, my husband always thought I should bounce back from a surgery or illness about 50 times faster than he did! So, there are benefits to going solo too. But he was great at comic relief.

Enjoy your day-much better days are ahead for you.

Hi @hipster333 you’re almost there! If all goes according to plan, I’ll have my first THR on 3/19, we can compare notes. There’s a lot of great support and experience here, and I’ve found it very comforting. I’m a worrier, so that says a lot. I’ll keep you in my thoughts as I’m sure these last hours can’t be easy. Hold onto how much better you’all feel in the next few months.

Hi @hipster333
Hope you are excited, along with your expected anxiousness, to me getting rid of that problem hip.
I've been going all day on these new bionic ones, and I'm still amazed that I'm pain free!
Took a bit to get here, but :yes!:

Just two more sleeps. Yikes! And for some stupid reason my body’s reaction to stress is to start my period early. Ack! Just what I need during and right after surgery. :( Not sure how they’ll do the catheter now. I guess I’ll have two days less to worry about it after surgery.

@MommaT I couldn’t find your thread to post this but wanted to let you know I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow. I’m sure you’ll do great!

Thanks @hipster333. Being an old woman, it don’t have your stress reaction :egypdance:

I just kept my thread on the recovery side since I am really in both and that is what I have seen others do.

I’m sure your or team has experience in dealing with women during their time of the month- don’t give it a second thought.

@AJinNH I’m a worrier too and tend to make things bigger in my mind than they really are. Happy the waiting is almost over. Hopefully the next month and a half will fly by for you!

:holysheep:Can you take it.....your period?! I'm just shaking my head, you poor thing.

It guess when it rains it pours...bring it on...I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR
And you know what....you will roar, right on through this cause that's what we do.
Who ever said men are stronger than woman :bignono:
Go get em, sweetie. You're going to do great!

Aw you’re so sweet @Layla I will roar because I have no choice. Lol My hip surgery is nothing compared to finding out this week that my father in law’s pancreatic cancer is back. When it rains it pours.

So sorry to hear about your father in law. It does help to put all of this in perspective. Hugs to you and yours. :console2:

So sorry about your FIL, and all your extra stressors.
It is alot easier to deal with life without that horrible hip pain to contend with, though.
So glad you will be on the healing side soon, my triple3 friend!

Thank you all for your kind words for my father in law. One day at a time, that’s all we can do. Right? Speaking of one day, one day from now I’ll be heading to the hospital in just under an hour. @Mascaramom I’m glad it’ll be the last day for you. What time is your surgery?

I'm sorry to hear the news about you FIL @hipster333 How very sad.
I hope that your last day before surgery is a peaceful one.
Can't wait until you and mascaramom are in recovery with all of the pre-surgery jitters behind you.
You'll be so relaxed and able to focus on healing alone. It's going to be good! :friends:
