I had to get off of the neurontin. I was so nauseated on it as if I had been on a bender all of the time.
Just wondering if your doctor had you titrate up slowly on the neurontin dosage? If so, was there a point that you felt a decrease in pain related symptoms prior to being overcome by the nausea? I just wonder if there would be a lower dosage that you could take that would be helpful without the unpleasant side effects.

Or, what about trying Lyrica. If you are a sensitive girl ask for small dosages of the meds to try first with the option of increasing the dosage gradually with time. Have your husband read the side effect profile and then you can report to him with what you are experiencing, so as to avoid that little phenomenon some of us have of reading the insert and then feeling all the side effects...

How's your rash?

Glad that you had some family time for your birthday!! :friends:
Take care,
Cardie

Thanks C Mac. I was only on 20 mg. I could not gt beyond that. I have a script for Lyrica but I have been asked to hold off and start Cymbalta instead. I am on nothing now and although it doesn't help with pain, I sure like feeling like myself. I am waiting for the approval to go through to my pharmacy.
I will keep trying.

BarbieJ, You sound like you are feeling better. Sometime the body needs a day of rest. Life is like a puzzle, sometime it doesn't make sense and then every thing falls in place. It will come. Take care my friend. Tashia

Hi BarbieJ

I am recently back from holiday, and I just wondered how you are getting on?

Tashia, in her quiet way, is a very wise counsellor. "Life is a puzzle." Gosh, you can't get more basic, and at the same time, more profound, than that. Mine certainly has been.

Keep us updated on what I sincerely hope has been "progress".

All the best from the UK (land of the Royal Baby, in case you hadn't noticed).

Hi BarbieJ

Another article that made me think of you. Has anyone done the MELISA blood test on you that can detect metal allergies? How are you doing these days?

Thinking of you,
Cardie

Don't quite know what to say, except thanks for visiting me here. Wish I could tell you that things are fine. Can't do that. I have been through many tests, two MRI tests, CT, blood tests. All normal, but all were done either while I was on amoxicillin or only two weeks off. I am only three weeks off now. My infectious disease doctor is telling me to stay off antibiotics.

Good to hear from you. I do worry about you. With all the tests lots of things are being looked at. The solution will come. Until then, know we care. Take care my friend. Tashia

I have been hoping for good news and waiting to report. I have been to three different oral surgeons, my dentist and an endo, and I have had three scans, two MRI and a ct. All oral surgeons are diagnosing my dental pain as atypical odontalgia. I had never heard of it. I have unrelenting jaw pain so severe I cannot place my head on the pillow or eat foods that are not soft. It is just horrible. I still think I have osteomyelitis of the jaw and it is too early to be detected.
I have been 30 days off of antibiotics. My infectious disease dr wants me to try to stay out of the ER and stay off f antibiotics. I am seeing my OS next week. Every day that I am off of antibiotics my hip has more burning, stinging and deep pain. It felt better than it ever has when on amoxicillin and I could walk well without pain. Uh oh. I don't think I am fixable and I am worried. I am just trying to live one day at a time. My focus is to not think about should and think about now.

Barbie, I'm so sorry you are still suffering. I hope you can find some things to do each day that give you a smile. Your approach of taking things day by day is a good one for right now. It is really a good thing that none of the specialists can find a serious problem. That would give me hope that things may normalize for you with some time. Sending you ((((HUGS)))). Try hard not to focus on the bad thoughts. I know that's tough....but it will help.

When I was very ill, my doctor told me just before bedtime to get a notebook and write down the things I was greatful for. I looked at him and was very honest with my respond. He comment was at least it was something. That night I started keeping a list and to my surprise I was greatful for a lot of things I had taken for grant. I woke the first was I have clothes so I can get dressed. Now I am glad I found this site, which could be followed by three pages grateful just from being here. Please try it. It helps while you are waiting to find out whats wrong. Take care my friend and remember you have good friends here. Tashia

Still struggling and have almost lost my ability to chew foods. My teeth hurt all of the time. I am eating mostly yogurt and creamy foods and drinking ensure. I felt so good in July while I was taking amoxicillin. I am 69 days off of antibiotics and feeling worse with each passing day. Blood tests are normal still.

Barbie, I'm so sorry you are having problems like this! I just can't believe that someone can't get to the bottom of what's going on. Please keep trying to find different doctors to talk to. There must be someone out there who can find the answer.
