Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Janet, I'll tag Jo so she takes a look for you when she gets back online. @Josephine:

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Janet,

I know how frustrating it is when it is as my mother says, "one thing after another.' You have such a great attitude. Things always have a way of working themselves out. Keep the ole chin up and you will be right. Good luck!

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

One step at a time I guess Janet. Hope all goes well with the CAT scan. Please keep us updated!

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

As you can see, the LLD has my spine all bent over. No, I never had an LLD prior to the THR. I'l also wondering what the "black circle" is higher up in the film...and yes, I do have back problems...

Well, the MRI showed all sorts of things, including fibroid uterine tumors and the ovarian cysts, so I'm sure the CAT scan will tell more about those as well. Here we go again...

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hey, This is my 2000 post! :yahoo:I'm a Supremo now! :wow2: That shows you how inactive I've been in a year :th_heehee:...

Don't worry too much about these Janet. I had the same diagnosis and unless they are causing you pain or discomfort there is nothing to worry about.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Well Jaycey, I have ultrasounds annually, and they wanted to do a procedure last year but I changed my mind and cancelled it. They can check it in December and if there changes, we'll talk then.

Sometimes you just have to say "NO". Especially when you are keeping a close watch...

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hey Ms. Supremo...

They found your cysts and fibroids 'the easy way'. Believe me.

If they aren't bothering you then it should be okay.

But since my Mom had Ovarian cancer, they cleaned me out. Nothing came back cancerous, just some big ole ones. And other yucky stuff.

So as far as a medical standpoint...they should be okay. I just wanted all of it out myself. Plus it was bothersome being in my 40's.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Being adopted, I have no medical history, unfortunately. When I did locate my birth mother who lives 10 miles away, she was horrified and had little to offer. She did give me the birth father's name though and I found him in California.

From what little info I gathered, they both have high BP and diabetes, and I have inherited the high BP. No diabetes so far, but that's all I know....

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I woke up sick to my stomach this morning and it stayed with me all day. I was able to make it to the CAT Scan tonight though so now we play the waiting game again...more later.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Janet

It's just not fair. Nobody deserves all this. Really, really thinking of you. Take care.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sorry about finding your Mother. Anyway, genetics play a big part as I've seen in my family.

But, I am thinking back. those fibroids are probably fine, but they can get big and uncomfortable enough to put pressure on your, for ex., top of your legs. I also had terrible leg cramps and they went away after I had that surgery. I really felt a lot better afterwards.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Janet, you are indeed, in more ways than one, a Supremo. Like Sharon, I trust you to know what will be in your best interest. I hold the vision for the easiest, healthiest, shiny Janet kind of process and outcome. You give so much to us all. I hope you get back from us at least a bit of what you give. Thank you.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Are you kidding me? This place is my second home! Don't know what I'd do or where I'd be without all of you cyber friends. You guys give me the hope and courage to keep pursuing this.

I know there must be a way to make this right, I just don't know to what extremes I will have to go to to get there. Another revision has NOT been mentioned to me yet, as the docs have no idea what is wrong or what is causing the constant pain.

If it was that simple, we could just do it. So, the CAT Scan will show if there is somthing amiss with the hardware, placement perhaps? Don't know. All I know is, the pain is NOT muscular, and radiates from the core of my thigh.

That is why I have felt it has something to do with the longer stem that was used to go beyond the fracture. Just a guess of course...

All I know is, I've become quite "plump" with all this sitting around. Guess that's what makes me a "Supremo" :hysterical:...

If I didn't laugh, I would probably cry...

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Janet,

I was looking at your x-ray in comparison to mine. The stem of my implant gets narrower as it goes into my femur and there is space on either side of the stem (even a little at the bottom). From the angle of your x-ray, your stem looks like it is the same diameter all the way down, and it looks like it is pushing out on your femur at the bottom. I am not a medical professional by any means, but I'm curious if that is what is causing your pain.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sure sounds about right to me Rebecca. But, I have to see what this OS finds in the scan. This OS is a "specialist in reconstructive surgery". Sure wish I had know what to look for before any of this started.

I have learned so much from BoneSmart. I just wish I had found this forum BEFORE I went though any of this. But, no sense crying over spilled milk as they say...won't change a thing. Just going forward from here...what else can I do?

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Aw Janet, not been checking in much lately......hadn't realised that your thread contained troubles. Sorry to hear what you're going through - my thoughts are with you. Fingers crossed for you x

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Janet, this was a cementless femoral implant, yes?

Well, Rebecca has a good point. Apart from the stem being loose about ¾ of the way down (gaps between bone and implant pointed out by the red arrows), the tip of the stem is wearing away the bone (depression being worn in the bone pointed at with the yellow arrow) as it moves about which is typical of loosening. Unfortunately the label is right over the crucial spot where this would show more clearly.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hmmm...Well, I do have 2 more views that I can scan. Let's see if those are more helpful. Yes, I don't know why that label is where it is on part of the film...odd I thought.
