MUA My LTKR journey continues to RTKR<

@becticu - I am so happy for your great success. I remember the first time I went to pt after mine, I cried when I saw how much more bend I had and could not quit smiling.
I'm so glad you have a great pt, that makes all the difference.
You are doing so great! I only had 105 when they discharged me from pt. and you already have that, yea!!
:wowspring:

Fantastic news Becky! You must be so relieved to have this in your rearview mirror and to have gained so much flexion already! I'd do a cartwheel for you if I could, but...well...you know, lol! Sweet dreams! :loveshwr:

Glad it's going well so far, Becky. Keep on taking it gently. :thumb:

Becky - so happy to hear your MUA went well. You are well on your way to your new life with knees that work!
Stay ahead of the pain after your Meds wear off. You know the drill! Keep us posted!

I'm glad that you are happy with the mua. That is a great flexion number. Take it easy and baby that knee for a little while. [Hugs]

Hey there! Just catching up with your thread! Lots going on in your life!

Little Harper is precious! Congratulations to you and your beautiful daughter...and family as well!

MUA...hope it has made a difference for you...it helped me but I couldn't tell how much pain I had from it due to the pain of the new knee! I think in the long run you will be glad you did it!

I will post an update on my thread!

Hang in there! :friends:

Good going, Becky! What a super number! Now, remember, easy does it gets it recovered quicker!

Wow! I'm so glad it's over and I'm so glad you are doing well! I hope your ROM number keeps climbing and you continue to feel great!

So happy for you you! I missed your posting about your MUA beforehand, but I'm glad to hear it went well! They say the danger zone for regressing occurs within two weeks of the MUA and I found that the gentle stretching and bike helped a lot in maintaining the new bend during this time. I hope it continues to progress well for you!

Thanks everybody for all the well wishes and congrats on my MUA. I continued to have little to no pain all yesterday and didn't wake up for pain meds at all during the night which is rare for me. I did have what I considered normal pain this morning and was able to control with one Loritab.

PT was again nothing but gentle stretches and massage today. She measured me and I went from 105 yesterday to 107 today so that is an encouragement I progressed with no pushing at all. After the massage and stretching...did I say gentle...she measured again and I was 112. All point to the conclusion I did need the MUA. I went to the Y and just walked in the warm water pool for a bit after PT.

Monika (PT) did tell me it could be 48-72 hours before pain peaked. I had been so amazed I still wasn't in pain. This afternoon it has increasingly become more painful but honestly not any worse than on a bad day before. One Loritab not cutting it tho. I have some behind the knee pain but a lot of tight muscle pain now. Sitting in the jacuzzi bath with Epsom salts while I catch up BS.

The ever elusive Mr Poo is rearing his ugly head again, or maybe say not rearing his ugly head, hee hee! I think all the pain meds yesterday at the hospital plus it had been a few days before that. It makes for a miserable feeling tonight.

I had a funny thing with the pre op nurse yesterday. She recognized me since that's been by 3rd time there since March and she remembered that I had been a Trauma ICU nurse there in the past. She actually noticed that my bands on my braces were a different color than I had in June. She said, your braces are a different color! It's pretty bad when you are that frequent flyer that they notice something like that! Speaking of braces, I've had them for 3.5 years and they come off August 23!:happydance: That's a much looked for day for me. Next will be not thinking about thsee knees most of the time!:wowspring:

OMG, Becky, you are now officially unstoppable! Look at that flexion just jumping ahead; YES!!! You just made my night, especially thinking about soaking in the Jacuzzi with Epsom salts; heavenly! Walking in the warm water pool is also a delightful way to spend your afternoon; whoohoo!

LOL at the pre-op nurse noticing the color of your braces! Perhaps she missed her calling and should have become a detective? Talk about keen observational skills and a great memory; hah! Wow, 3.5 years with braces? You are going to be one happy lady when those babies come off. New teeth and 2 new knees all in one year is just incredible!:happydance:

wow, that's a great improvement becky. now to get those bowels moving ~ whatever works. indulge in some natural black liquorice lol to help you along (not too much though). that's funny the nurse recognized you and remembered the colour of your braces. rest up and easy going with exercises. happy for you.

That's some great news about your rom. I'm sure you must be feeling much more encouraged. I think it's great that your nurse remembered you so well. I got a card in the mail today from my nurses for this last surgery and it made me feel like someone cares and we're not just cattle being herded.

Congrats indeed -- if too many people read your story there may be a run on MUA's. Seriously, I'm so glad it worked out for you. You can relax knowing you made a great, if stressful, decision. I'm sure your family is ecstatic as well. Enjoy these last weeks of no work time to relax, rest your knees, and of course play with baby Harper.

You knew almost from the beginning of your second surgery that something was different and not quite right. So glad you were able to come to a decision that seems to be working for you! I hope the rest of your recovery continues to progress and you are able to return to work when you want.

Lol ....I just know that I'm tempted after reading of Beckys great success - as I sit here leg on my shower chair willing gravity to pull this leg straight.

I hear ya @kmak81230, I really do. However, Mr. Glitter told me today I was not a candidate in his opinion. I know that's supposed to make me feel good, but....somehow, it did not. Instead it conjured up images of living in his office for the next year, lol.
