yes, you are where you need to be right now. i'm sure the medication will work well for tara as it did for my niece who had the same issues. breastfeeding takes a toll in the beginning and you are tara's and harper's angel for helping them out when they need it the most. who knows, you might get your "r.o.m. miracle", in the meantime you get to have your daughter and granddaughter "back" for awhile. keep us updated and enjoy every moment.
Tara and Harper are so blessed to have you! Your knee is rebelling, but you are totally the best mom and grandmom ever. I am so sorry Tara is fighting that depression. I know it makes you feel helpless but you are being a huge help! God bless you all!
You are so correct @rubyyarn, Harper really needs the Poop Fairy to go away and I need her to visit! The joke is often said when you get old you get fixated on the subject....old has nothing to do with it, throw in a knee replacement and there you have it
@kmak81230 a little bit of rest makes the day seem much brighter. His Mom was able to go today and help and I am able to be home all day. I took a long shower and not much else but ice and elevate. Our temps are 10 degrees lower this week in the mid 80's instead of mid to upper 90's. I did spend 10 minutes pulling some weeds in my fairy garden. I limited my time but it felt good to do that!
You know @Pheebs52, I actually told Tara that I thought maybe that's why I had a rebellious knee to keep me out of work so I could be there with her. She looked at me like I was kinda crazy but I think you're on to something.
@VW54, you've really been going through it as well. I got to read some of your recent thread this morning. I woke early but just enjoyed lying there, reading and not having to get up! I hope things at "the spa" improve. Too bad it wasn't as we all imagined and fantasized about! I hope your clunking is getting better.
Oh @mechellec, that made me cry when you said I was a rock star Honey aka grandma. Cry in a good way. I need to think of it that way.
It is special that I get to spend all this time with them @liam2015 and @sistersinhim. If I was back at work already I wouldn't be able too. You know how when you have been at the beach all day when you go to bed you have the waves in your dreams? I had sweet, soft baby cheeks in my dreams last night.
Becky - I am just catching up on your thread. I want to tell you that you are the genuine thing when it comes to the best of grandmothers and moms. You are right where you need to be to help your daughter through these tough days. I know it is taking a toll on your knee but remember it is not hurting it, just slowing down your recovery. Take good care of your baby knee when you can and your babies when they need you.
Both will be worthwhile in the long run!
Peg
You are a blessing to all. What a Mom and Grandmother. Your family is blessed and we have been blessed with your courage and honesty. I hope Tara and you are both feeling better in the days ahead.
@Canada35, I like how you put it that's it's not hurting my knee, just slowing my recovery a bit. That's a really good way to look at it.
Thank you @Red's Mom for your sweet remarks. I've felt like such a complainer. There are so many that have been through so much with their knees for so long. That's some real courage! When I had my first knee done in March I read your entire thread. I was amazed at your recovery and adventures. I can't imagine revovering in Hawaii. Your recovery gives hope to us all that one day we will get there!
Dear Becky, you are so welcome to "use" us to sound off, to share, to be whatever you need.
That's what we do, right ?
The picture of Harper chilling with her honey is precious.
i love the photo of your legs comfy on the lounge doctor and harper comfy on your legs. perfect position you can look at each other and communicate. as sistersinhim noted, you're doing 2 jobs at once!
