My new knee pops. Sometimes a lot and sometimes not at all. Back during the first few weeks after surgery when the leg swelled a lot when walking it would be popping away then stop as the leg got swollen. I think sometimes it has to do with muscle strength as it does seem less at first now and starts up when my leg starts to get tired during the course of a walk.

It pops a less than the damaged knee did and the popping doesn't hurt the way it could before!

Mine pops and clicks still, and not a lot of nerve pain, the only extra thing I'm using is the silicon strips for my hypertrophic scar.

Well I :driver:today. Had to go to the family Doctor. I did good, when I got home Iced and sleep like a baby.:sleep:Hope I'm not up all night.

Took meds, went to bed, slept fair. Got up two times in the night, but went back to sleep. All and all not bad. I wish someone would fix my name "May the force be with me". As I must have been out there with meds. when I first started my thread.

May need to go back to my to the Doctor and get a shot in this right knee. It's starting to give me problems with some pain. Really need it to hold up a little longer.

maybe it's my drugs too, but I always read your thread title that way anyway!

Three weeks three days sure seems longer than that. Had some pain last night. I think I just over did it when I went to my doctors appointment the other day. Been resting and icing. We have friends coming over Sat. for a cook out. They will do all the work so looking forward to that.

I have been reading on here, and it seem some people have a popping sound in their new joint. Is this normal?
My knees popped and thunked---either the muscles got bigger and stronger and muffled the sound, or I become desensitized to it---but your new knee is made out of plastic and metal, so it will make some noises, but you will see them go away.

When I first went back to the classroom after my BTKR, my students could hear my knees make noises in stereo!

My PT today commented on the popping in the knee cap etc - he said it is the guide piece that is attached to the back of the patella and is a good sound to hear because it means that it is clear of soft tissue swelling etc. It apparently is going to be a permanent thing.

I sleep good last night. Made a potty run,and went back to sleep around 2:00. Knee is stuff this morning. Took a couple of Tylenol, made some coffee, sitting back with some ice.:ice:

My knee pops to. I've had a partial in dec. Went crazy poping. Was patellia not glide right. Among other things wrong. By no means am I saying you have a problem. Just my experience.

So had to have convention/revision. But the one I got in March it does Pop to. But that is from swelling. My knee gets stiff to. But I try to do some slides and it does help.

Most important ice ice elivate. Be careful. Be gental to ya knee.

Thanks @Angeal1978, My knee is not popping. I just have been reading, and it sounded like alot of people were have that problem. My knee is stiff, and very hard to bend. As I'm on my own. I just don't know where I should be at in all this. Just taking it one day at a time. I go back to my OS June 22, but may need to go back sooner for my right knee, as it is hurting.

I was wondering how long does it take for the incision to heal?

It can take several weeks before all the scabs are off.

The knee popping does seem to worry people. As long as it doesn't hurt, it's nothing to worry about. It happens because, instead of the knee moving over relatively soft cartilage, you have plastic moving over metal.

Many people find that the popping or clicking decreases as time goes by, but others just get used to it. My left knee (8 months old) hardly clicks at all, but my right knee (3+ years old) still does it occasionally.

It take a long time. Few weeks. Day at time. As I do. Try this. Take sheet or belt of some kind put it on feet. And have long peaces in arms. And grandly move toward u. I have to. I'm 3 months and mine is stiff. It will help you bend.

It's not common for other knee to hurt. It's where surgical knee is weak and u are using your good knee for all the work. Eventually both need be replace. Xxxx good luck.

My non-operated knee acted up when I had the first knee done. I think it is because it is being asked to work harder while the operated knee is recovering.

@Bilbo , sounds like things are slowly improving for you as they are for me. The big hurdle I'd really like to clear is the sleep issue so I'm hoping that won't be too far down the road. One day at a time for both of us!

Went to Lowes today and as we were getting out of the car this man come up and ask my husband to help him put some mulch in his car. He said he just had a LTKR and was 84 years old. He said he was at 6 weeks. We talked for a long time. I was just amazed with how well he was doing. Said he hardly had any pain with his. His incision looked really good. It was a nice visit.

Everyone progress is different. I was talking with lady at therapy and she is 79. And wow she moves like a champ. Have to say I was a bit jelious. Cause they could bend here and she did not make a peep. Me know on other hand I have say stop.

I'm glad you are doing well. Xxxx

Seem each one of us been on a huge rollar coaster...
