Take first bandage off today can't wait.

Oh, and start rocking those electric carts at the store, embarrassing at first but fun once you get used to them.
:hog:

We have done the "too much, too soon" bit---the ODIC---the Over Did It Club. We learn from it, but my learning curve was rather lengthy.

I would, seeing when you had surgery, avoid going out for a while---if you absolutely have to, use a cart and then go right home and ice/elevate, and rest. Your knee is still rather angry and doing this, while it may seem harmless at the time, can, as you found out, cause of inflammation and some frustrating times.

Been Icing and very little stretching. Hope it does not set me back to bad. I don't go back to my Doc. until Monday.

Everyone has been talking about getting their meds refilled. I live in West Pangburn with a Heber Springs address and after the surgery I'm staying with my Mother and Dad in Benton. That seem to have blown all of their minds. Took me three days to get that straightened out. Glad I didn't wait to the last min.

Yes, it always pays to be prepared. Re-order several days before you are going to run out. That way, you don't get caught without pain relief over long weekends, holidays, etc.

I have been doing some exercises they give me at the hospital. I can do all of them fairly well except straight leg raises. I can not lift my leg without help. Is this normal? Still have some swelling around my knee, and have been icing and keeping it elevated. I'm not worried about that. I think the hard thing for me is not knowing where I should be at in my recovery. I go to the Doctor Monday and don't know what to expect. I walked about 15 steps outside today. Felt good to get out.(used my walker). When I got out the other day and over extended my leg. Has made me worry I might have messed it up. Have some pain under my knee cap.

Yes. Quite normal. It sometimes takes a while. Once you can do them, you don'tneed to keep doing straight leg raises.

Hello @Bilbo we are just 5 days apart in our journeys I had my second knee replacement April 21st, it sounds like you are on your way, this site is awesome, you are not alone, we are all here for you. :welome:

The weekend is here. My husband has been working and at home feeding the animals. We have 7 dog and some fish(salt water). He is coming down and that will help my mood. I do miss him so. I'll be here about one or two more weeks. Then try to go home.

That first week the med were working good. I have had to go back and fix a few things on my set up.The only thing I was not able to change was "May the force be with me" LOL

Glad to hear you are doing better. The leg raises will just happen one day and you will feel amazed by it, as I was when I could finally lift my leg on the bed without assistance. Enjoy your weekend with your husband.

I'm working myself up to a little trip around Walmart on Sunday, I have cabin fever, I plan on using the electric scooter if it's working have a great weekend.

The trip was not bad, just getting in the car. I had some shoes on that had rubber soles. Getting in car they did not slide and my knee did about a 100 degree bend. Which needless to say I was not ready for. I've been icing and still don't think I'm over it yet. Should my knee still be warm to touch?

I have been tossing and turning all night. Start to type and falling to sleep.LOL

Hi @Bilbo Re getting into the car...I had my left knee done and found if I put my leg straight into the car first and then sat I could get in and out better, I know this is the opposite of what. You're suppose to do but it worked for me lol...

Thanks if I get up the nerve to get out again I'll try that.

Well I go to the Doctor today 3:30. I can't wait to see what he has to say. As I have been on my own with out any therapy. Also had a set back with my Wal-mart trip :bignono:. I hope I'm where I need to be. Wish me luck :fingersx: .
I,m feeling pretty good, Got to see Alan Garrett:loveshwr:and had a good Birthday this weekend. It has been a big help having everyone on here. I find myself on here late at nite when I can't sleep reading with one eye open and one closed :type: LOL.

Yep, @Bilbo , sleeping is the worst, isn't it? Hope your doctor's appointment goes well. I have my follow-up tomorrow so will be anxious to hear what my OS has to say too
