Hi @Chanie, for house preparation we removed any small rugs or other things crutches might get caught on. I actually rented a wheel chair for the time I was non-weight bearing so I could still attend events and anything that was more than a short crutch trip. That may not be as much of an issue during COVID when we can't do much anyway. The one device I wished I had gotten was a knee scooter. A wheel chair is pretty unwieldy inside most homes and the knee scooter allows mobility and the ability to carry your own food or beverage much easier than crutches. I did use a backpack with my crutches but that was kind of a pain. In hospital they had me on morphine and duladid (sp?) and sent me home with Norco. I had a 2 hour ride home and was in a hard cast, everything inside the cast swelled and pressed against the cast and they had to put me on stronger meds for a few days to get everything back under control. Starting in a splint should prevent the issue I had with a cast.
