Hi all. it has been some time since I visited here at BoneSmart. It is now a year and 4 months since my knee revision( replacement).
This time around, I have almost forgotten that I had it done. I am back to my old habits of exercising several times a week, spinning, riding my bicycle and also my motorcycle.
The affected leg gets tired a little more frequently than its counterpart on the right side of my body. my wife calls me the "energizer bunny" for all my active pursuits. Since the posting of my "back in the game" video at Hospital for Special Surgery, I get lots of requests to speak to others about to get a TKR or to some who are a bit discouraged at the local Rehab facility. I have become the local poster boy for this procedure, except i am no longer a "boy"( my wife does not think I have ever grown up!).
I can bend the new knee almost but not as far as the other natural one. But, I do gt stiff more in that leg than the other after sitting at a table or desk for some time. I need to stand up or just do a few knee bends to get moving.
Enough of my tale. To ALL, there is a bright side waiting at some point after all the surgery and recuperation. Take it slow and easy and you will get there!
