TKR Knees 1 AND 2 up and running

Thanks,,FG! That's a great way to look at it. Also, since I'm last case of the day maybe they won't be rushing to get to next person.

I have to say the fear and what ifs have reared their ugly heads. No logic behind them. I'll be glad when hubby gets home. We're going out to dinner for distraction. I have random thoughts of cancelling surgery - not going to happen. The first one was a breeze, almost. Even if this is twice as bad, I can deal with it. And start recovery without the dread of another surgery always in back of my mind.

Prayers for peace and relaxation, please.

Karri, it's a 23 hour stay (max), so I'll be coming home on Wednesday, hopefully morning. Just have to let spinal wear off, walk and pee. They don't kick you out -- if something doesn't go as planned they send you to hospital .

@KarriB I agree, I was the third case, my surgery was around noon, and I was very impatient!!!

@sheliac you don't stay overnight???

Yes, I'll stay overnight. I'll probably be in my room by 6, and if goes like last time, the spinal will wear off by 10. They'll help me get up, take out the catheter and let me sleep. Last time PT had me walking by 6AM and I was home by 7:30. It may be later this time because my surgery is later.

I'm hoping I can sleep late tomorrow. They make you be NPO after midnight no matter what time your surgery. I don't mind no food, but I'm a water addict.

I'm trying to stay occupied til hobby gets home. Then he can make me laugh at my fears.

My surgery was first thing, and I was so happy about that. Then when the nurse came to take me to the theatre I was running around yelling "I'm not ready yet, I'm not ready!" Like the Teletubbies I just wanted to run away :bolt:I was in hospital five days. And then I wasn't ready to go home.
Looking forward to hearing you are ok.

I know what you mean about the water, that's what I missed the most, I was too nervous to be hungry, lol

Best wishes for you second knee replacement, Shelia.
Looking forward to hearing from you afterwards.

Yes, hoping the second one is as easy as the first. Enjoy your dinner out!

I have always hated that aspect of having suregery---and waiting until later in the day makes it worse---
My surgery was first thing, and I was so happy about that
So was mine---and I got in and got'r done!

These surgeons are jocks. They thrive on their construction work, and are tireless. Really! So you'll be fine, just a bit thirsty. But it'll be over in a nanosecond once it starts and you'll begin healing with BoneSmart as your guides, plus your long list of necessary items!
Enjoy dinner out. We'll be here eager to hear. Thank heavens for pain Meds and anti-anxiety Meds.

Enjoy your dinner out tonight and rest well, knowing that you're well-prepared. You've been through this, it went really well, and you'll be home before you know it! Prayers and blessing coming your way.

Thinking of you, hoping all goes well tomorrow. Pretty soon you will have 2 good strong zig ful knees.

Let us know when you can!

You GOT this:yes!:

Thanks y'all. Hitting the sack after nice dinner out and a mini-binge of Nsked and Afraid. I had an extra bottle of the special soap -- made hubby shower with it tonight. He thinks it was required :). Don't want him contaminating my sterile bed!

I had both of my surgeries as the last of the day. I figured they saved the best to last or they considered that my recovery would go well.

Good luck!

You are going to be just fine, Sheila. I'll be thinking if you tomorrow afternoon.

Audrey's right, you will be fine, and soon you will have your new knee! Yay, this is worth cheering about. Anyway, all the best and when you feel up to it let us know how it went.

I am praying for you Shelia. Remember that God is in control and you will be just fine. I will be expecting to hear a good report from you very soon. The Lord bless you and keep you and infuse you with his peace. In Jesus name, amen.

My wish for you is an early pee! :) I had to stay extra days because of my "lazy" bladder. I know, like everyone has said, that you will do fine. You are one tough woman.
